Rosie, have you been to Inshriach? I think you have.

No Cherry, I have never been there, but it does look a lovely place. I have been to Abriachan on the shores of Loch Ness

I do remember that. I think it was only last year. I knew it sounded the same as it is probably Gaelic. I will no doubt get into trouble for that comment.

Today I bought an Euphorbia milii in Wilkinsons for £1. It was reduced from £4.98 ... and there's nothing wrong with it, except the flowers have finished. It's going into my succulent collection

I looked up 'Euphorbia Milii' as I'd never heard of it, but of course I have - Crown of Thorns etc. So many different names for just that one plant. I have a succulent I'd like identifying, Hywel, I must dig out the photo and see if you can tell me what it is please. I was bargain hunting too yesterday, Wellington garden center had a clearance sale. A lot of the plants were awful, but I dug through and found some decent annuals to cheer up my tubs. £1 instead of £6.99 each for a pack of Nemesia and Verbena... not bad! Plus a pretty frilly Begonia Pink Petticoats and a Fuschia 'Alison.' I didn't mean to buy all pink, it just happened that way! It does look a tad girly...

What's wrong with pink? I like your pretty Begonia, Bess.

I like pink too Why shouldn't men like pink ?
I'll do my best to identify your succulent Bess, if you put a photo of it.

You could always start a new thread, @hywel. I went to the Taunton Flower Show yesterday. I was very restrained and only bought a mini Lavatera, three pale blue Viola cornuta for £5 and a new frilly flowered Strepto from Dibley's. Photos later - it was too wet when we got home. I was looking for Echinaceas, but I refuse to pay £8.50 for one stem!

That is outrageous Geranium. I bought a very small Echinacea, which was a new type, at Harrogate the year before last and it is lovely. My towering huge one was eventually moved to disguise the oil tank. It is taller than the shrubs around it and the stems are strong so don't need support.

I think I might do that, then I'll be able to show the beautiful flowers on my cacti What a price for one stem ! I wouldn't have bought it either. My Echinacea has disappeared It has come through worse winters than we had last year, so I don't know what's happened to it.

Echinaceas seem to have the habit of vanishing. I've had three 'Fatal Attraction' over the years and they've all gone.

I saw bulbs for sale today, so I bought some dwarf Narcissi ... Tete a tete, and Jetfire I'm going to plant them now so that they flower early. I'll buy more later and hope they flower when these have finished.

Bulbs, already? My Parker's catalogue came, but I'm not looking at it yet. Bulbs say 'Autumn' to me. I hope it works, @hywel.
