That's a long way to travel in bad weather Cherry, I'm glad you arrived safely. Your son must have been tired after it. It must have been tiring for you too, and a bit scary in rough weather.

Glad you got home safely Cherry, the weather has been terrible & I wouldn't have wanted to make such a long journey in it either.

I came down this morning to find feathers in the middle of the living room floor. Bella must have caught a bird during her early morning prowl and brought it in. She hasn't caught a bird for several years.
I have a bird phobia so had to ask a neighbour to move it, but he couldn't find it. Then later on I saw it on top of a radiator behind the settee, so I asked another neighbour to move it. He took it down the garden and put it in the hedgerow. I wasn't able to go into the room after I'd found it, until it had been moved
Birds ! They are stealing my raspberries too and maybe that's where it got caught.

Thank you grindle. I felt better after the bird had been moved but I can still 'feel' it there, if you know what I mean. I'm going to have to move things around a bit I think, that may get rid of the 'feeling'.

You'll have to get a big bell on Bella's collar so the birds can hear her coming Eli. I love birds but I do panic a bit if a wild one gets in, at the old house I had to get starlings out a couple of times & a bluetit which had got in through an air vent & got stuck in the wall cavity & I certainly wouldn't like to find a dead one in the house.

The warning light came on in my car and said one of the tyres had a low pressure, and that it was 31 but should be 32, so I stopped at a filling station to pump the tyre up ... and it cost £1 !!! You had to put a £1 coin in the slot to use the pump, and it took all of 5 seconds
Then the warning light still said the tyre had a low pressure, and then it said there was no pressure in any of the tyres, and then it said that one of the tyres had 34 pressure and that it was lower than the others, but the others had a lower reading ... so there's something wrong with it and the garage said it needed resetting. They'll do it next week when it goes in for service.
But it gave me a bit of a fright when the warning light came on, and I felt annoyed at paying £1 for 5 seconds worth of air, especially when it was a fault in the gauge on the car, so I'm going to buy myself a pump

We set of for hospital at 11 almost got there yes we got a punture i had 10 min to get to hospital it went from disaster the jack wouldn't take the weight of the car, i had to call for a taxi got there just in time for my appointment, when i came out no husband about another taxi back to where it happened waited for recovery that was sorted then to sort new tyres which was done the following day. All in all it was a very stressful few days. Car now has 4 new tyres at great expense. My day out Friday was really lovely just what i needed.

No wonder you were stressed lesley I think I would have been too Yesterday we had trouble with Dylan, his back legs are getting weak and he's not coping with this heat at all, I did think I would have to call the vet out as he just wouldn't move in the morning once he was outside, had to put the umbrella up over him to keep him in the shade, fortunately by lunchtime he decided to come indoors although he didn't want to move much, he seems a bit brighter this morning but I'm going to have to keep a very close eye on him

That sounds like one thing after another getting on top of you lesley, you really needed that good day out! Poor Dylan, it must be horrible for dogs in this heat especially when they're getting a bit older. You'll have to get him a doggy paddling pool for the garden grindle. I remember our boxer when she was older & not well would want to go out for a walk but once she'd gone a short distance would lie down & not want to move but not want to go home.

I'm glad you had a good day out, you needed it after all that. Take care ...
Animals don't like this heat. Bella disappears somewhere every day, she's gone for hours and I keep worrying that she's all right.

I can remember when you got Dylan as a puppy grindle. Time has really flown. At last I am buying a bungalow. They are really expensive here in Downham Market and I had to be told by a yoga friend before the house hit ‘Rightmove’ or it would be too late. It is really big for a 2 bedroom bungalow and was extended into the garage and out to the back as well. This means the garden is very, very small. I will cope by getting rid of the lawn and making it modern, cottagey. My patio is full of plants and some have been delivered to White House Farm too. The kitchen/family/dining room is large and it has a fairly large utility room, so is everything I want, except the garden size. I am going to rely on the White House Farm garden to keep fit.
