I hope I am having my Scottish son’s cocker spaniel for a month while they visit their family in Australia. I will be using a dog walker as my strength is on the wane with age. This dog is a great grandson of my Brodie.

the builder came yesterday and re rendered our chimney he has to come back to finish a bit of work replacing lead flashing but the scaffold had been put too close so we've got to wait for them to come and take that part down then he can finish the job

The stuff for the drive is supposed to be delivered today. Builder needs 2 consecutive dry days to lay it so heaven knows when it will be done. Trouble is that we cannot get the car out until then.

clicked like in recognition of the comment not that I liked the idea you cant get your car out. Could you leave the car out side the drive for a few days ? at least that way you'd be able to use it. We had a similar situation a few yrs back when we widened the drive.

We are at the top of a narrow private drive that serves 3 other properties. Would not be popular if I blocked the Drive. Also the road at the bottom is a very very busy main road so reluctant to park on it either. We had not intended going anywhere so not a major problem, except that I have ordered £50 of snowdrops which need to be collected soon.

Builder is working on the Drive. Filling in holes with tarmac. If dry tomorrow he will put down the top coat. 6 pallets of stuff delivered yesterday.

Let's hope where you live it doesn't rain for the two days the builder needs! However we are forecast rain here for much of the day tomorrow.

I hope they can finish it soon for you but here, at least, we are forecast rain most of the day. I hope it won't be like that where you live.

grindle that means you will have to spend at least the weekend & perhaps a day or two next week without the repairs being finished
