Interesting to know what people see in their gardens in different parts of the country! ๐
I also have a rose flowering on the balcony but it flowers every year in April! But it's a single rose, not a hybrid tea. I grew it from some seeds my brother got from China some years ago. He gave me a couple & we both sowed them on the same day. None of his germinated & only 1 of mine did. It took 3 or 4 years before it flowered for the first time! It has beautiful butter yellow flowers, I look forward to seeing it every year now! I don't have any photos of it on my mobile but I'll upload a couple of photos later in the day - if I remember! ๐

Roof work today. Put extra flashing on the back of the chimney stack where it leaked into the living room ceiling, painted Silicon sealant on the back of the chimney as well. Not easy work as there is not much room behind the chimney to stand on. Won't know if it works until the next thunderstorm and massive rainfall.

Made a start on painting the Gable end wall with Silicon in the hope of stopping the water from getting in (as suggested by our builder son in law). Managed about a third of it before the pain stopped me.

Let's hope it does the job & that your suffering will have been worth the while! ๐

Wall painted and I did not join the list of old men in A&E after falling from a ladder. Now all we can do is wait for very heavy rain in the correct direction to see if we have stopped the water from coming in over the top of the window.

Been a busy couple of days, made a very early start to get to Malvern on Thursday for the show, had a great time although I had to give up by early afternoon as my hip was playing up, early start back home again yesterday before the traffic started to build up there's major roadworks on M5 around Bristol and didn't want to get caught up in it. I'm planning a very quiet weekend just pottering now

Off to Ness Gardens on the Wirral today. Judging the local Alpine Society Group Show. Used to be a member, but sadly as I cannot drive at night and the meetings are in the evening, we had to give it up. Still at least I can still help at the show and at their plant sale later on.

Bella has developed a taste for Weigela flowers, she pulls the branches down with her paws and chews them. The flowers she can reach are all in shreds ! I was relieved to read that Weigela flowers are not toxic to cats, and that if they chew them they will come to no harm

That is strange isn't it, they must taste good to Bella Eli! I've seen cats chewing grass but not weigelas! ๐

I always liked pictures of Bella with the beautiful Welsh background, but havenโt seen any for a long time. Maybe now that the weather is better we will see more of her.

Glad to hear that Bella is alright & the flowers cause her no harm!
We used to have cats and they occasionally ate grass as well. It can be like a medicine to them.

Bella also chews grass but I've never seen her chew Weigela flowers before. It isn't as if she hasn't seen them because she often curls up under the tree.
Here's another photo of Bella for Cherry, taken a few weeks ago. She was concentrating on something ...

How strange Eli, thankfully it seems to do her no harm. She really is a beauty.

I'm feeling sad - two of my lovely neighbours are having end of life care. It has made me feel very sad.
