Tel, collerettes can have more than 8 petals as long as they are evenly spaced around the bloom, at least in the current classification/judges guide. Thanks Markb, I did not know that, serves me right for misplacing my directory. Good job there is a new edition for 2015

Yes 8 petals is the ideal but can have more. It is not a Dahlia that I would grow but it looks pretty tasty and may be one I would use for basket work. I am sure it will do very well in the trials.

Blimey Tel, they look lovely, and not just the blooms, but the foliage as well. You must be as pleased as punch . David Hall will definitely be on the phone soon

robh was right about the blooms in the polytunnel, everyone had marked up. outside the majority of blooms had marked up, except for a couple of Miniature Decs and a couple of Small Decs. Birkenshaw, Wyn's Favorite was unmarked.

I love the long straight stems on garden friends Tel and like @markymate the foliage. Looking forward to next year. In the pics from harrogate that Lou posted did halls use some garden friends in one of the exhibits ? Looks like it. Can you post pic of birkenshaw wynns favorite. Goodnight forum.
