We have just one fan left - Andy checked everywhere and pulled out the machines in the kitchen, too. He found a small damp area in the corner, so we have the fan until Tuesday. Otherwise, we're ready for renovation! Richard has already been in and calculated how many rolls of wallpaper we need to order in the morning. (There's a sale on, so we're getting them while they're bit cheaper). We also need to buy the paint...and he's contacting the floor people to get them down here soon. I think we can live with one fan...after having 14 machines going full blast, the difference is amazing. I probably am loopy, Sue - I hate noise.

Yes - Andy read the meter when he installed the machines, so we'll be able to claim the extra cost! The floor people have been this afternoon, and they'll start work as soon as they're free. The wallpaper has been ordered, and we bought the paint on the way home.

I've been away for a while and missed the progress, but it's great to hear that everything has pretty much dried out now and you're about to start the renovating. What a journey you've been on!

I knew it would take several months before the house became a home again. We're both getting fed up with living as we are, but now we can really look forward to a freshly painted, 'new look' home. We know how lucky we've been with our Ins. Co. I swap notes with other people in the hamlet who haven't had the same help and advice. I'll show you a photo of our new rug (for the new-look dining room)which we chose during the week - they'll deliver it when we're ready for it.

You'd have to go to Swindon - that's where it is for the moment. I suppose we could all take a picnic! ;D I've just taken piles of old magazines out to OH's car - it's the start of de-cluttering. He's off to the tip this morning. I've also moved the orchids from the dining room up onto the spare bedroom window seat. I still have to find room for the others from the sitting room. Hmmm...where?
