Some good news (well, for us!) We had to get two quotes for recarpeting, and we weren't at all happy with one firm - they didn't seem to understand what we wanted, and measured up incorrectly.

The other one knows what they're doing, spent a whole hour just measuring our complicated hall and staircases with their wobbly walls - and fortunately, their quote is lower, so the Ins. Co. should be happy - and so are we!

It's still a ginormous amount of money, though!

Just as well it isn't us that has to pay...
