I can't believe what's been going on today. We went to Glastonbury and picked up the wallpaper, then on to B&Q to try to find the right colour paint...OK so far, as long as we can mix the colour ourselves. Then Richard came round with his quotation - still OK, as he can start work soon. But I found an e-mail from a different Loss Adjuster - he wants TWO quotes for the work. We were told (by the first LA) that if we had a local man who we trusted, then we could (and should) go with him. OH has rung the new LA, and we hope he'll go along with the first thing we were told. If he won't, then getting another quote will take more time, and we'll lose Richard who has other jobs lined up. In the meantime, I looked at the John Lewis site again - and it definitely says that the Exeter branch has 10 Kenwood Chefs in stock. As we have to go to Exeter to collect the floor tiles which are waiting for us, we could do both in one trip. However, OH rang the branch - and they HAVEN'T got any KWCs in stock! Once again, it's very misleading, frustrating, and I could scream!

Don't think anything will happen today - Richard hasn't come, and Andy won't be able to get here from the North of here as that's where the snow is really bad.

Isn't it typical - we went up to Bristol (John Lewis) to buy my new Kenwood Chef, and Andy came while we were out. He has taken the smelly old carpet away, thank goodness, and weather permitting, will come back tomorrow to check our dampness and (hopefully) remove the rest of the fans. Richard came and left some tools here ready to start work tomorrow. Look what I've got - at last! ;D

Yes, we had to get the equivalent model, so my husband rang Kenwood Customer Services to make sure. I posted the old one on freecycle, and so far I've had 9 enquiries even though it's not working! How on earth am I going to choose someone? I bet there will be lots more, so I'll wait until the end of today to decide. Richard is here - work has begun! ;D ;D
