I've had 11 responses now - I'll choose the name this evening. Probably Rosie's way...

I want to make something with it, but I haven't got ingredients in - I fancy making a lemon drizzle cake. No chance of getting out to town today - all the roads are blocked. I hope it clears by tomorrow so our Sainsbury's order can get here!

Maybe Jamie Oliver will deliver it. ;D
Good to hear you are getting back on track.

Only if he has skis! ;D
Richard is going to try to slide down the hill and do some work here this afternoon. He'd booked a plumber to deal with radiators this morning. Obviously, that didn't happen.

But it did today - We've had Richard and Steve (the plumber) here all day, and there's been progress downstairs. I decided to try out my new mixer, and as our shopping came on cue, I made an apple cake. Would anyone like a piece before it all goes? ;D I don't seem to have a loaf tin, but it cooked fine in a larger one.

There's not much left of it already! Apart from Richard and Steve (the plumber), we had two more workmen who arrived on the doorstep with all their gear at 6 o'clock! I'd just made a cup of tea, so they had one as well - and of course, more of the cake vanished. They had come to start work on two of the three wooden floors. They were here until after 9, and they've done all the preparatory work before they start sanding down on Saturday. I had to stay well away, as the compound they used was distinct in its smell - it would have started an asthma attack. I could still smell it when I came out of the bedroom this morning. I think I might find somewhere to go on Saturday!

I can't see your cake Geranium for some reason but I can imagine it & yes, I'll have a piece please! I'd keep well away when they sand the floor, there's bound to be lots of dust in the air no matter how careful they are.

So sorry, Sue - it's all gone! I shall be making a different cake tomorrow - partly to keep 'our' workmen happy, and to be honest, to try out new recipes! ;D I'll make sure you get a piece this time - I can't imagine why you couldn't see the apple cake.
