We have three workmen in the house at the moment, since 8.30! I can't stand the noise of the floor sanders, three at once, so I shall absent myself as soon as the old mixer has been collected.
I'm off to bake another cake! ;D

It's a chocolate one! ;D I came home this afternoon to find several pieces missing. The flooring people will be back here tomorrow, so I don't think it'll last long.

You have put me in the mood for baking Geranium. We are having windows installed on Monday so I must make a cake. I don't know what I want to make yet. (Using my hand held mixer! There is no smiley for envy.)

No, half of it has been eaten already, so with three workmen back again tomorrow, I suppose I'll be baking yet another cake on Monday! What's your favourite recipe, Cherry? I've found an excellent website with well over 2,000 cake recipes on it - I've been writing a few of them down in a little book. www.thecakerecipe.co.uk (in case you feel like browsing!)

Thankyou for that link Geranium. I don't have a particular favourite, but I am fond of coconut and caraway seeds, both of which my husband hates. I miss cakes with these ingredients.

I'm sure I saw a recipe for a coconut cake on there, but I wouldn't make one - I'm allergic to coconut.

I'm not keen on Caraway cake, and I've never tried cardamom...I certainly haven't got any in the cupboard!

Our neighbour always brings a cake or cakes when she comes round. Yesterday she brought me a persimmon which I have yet to try. I reckon she thinks I need feeding ;D

My Zucchini and spice cake with lime frosting (Recipe page) contains cardamom. This is really special I think.
I made the workmen a Pot Loaf. This is a boiled fruit cake using bicarb to raise it. When the window fitters had it today they were raving about it. I also had to take some to the hangar for the photoshoot of the course for the aviation magazine. I love it too and it is simple and not expensive. I think I will put this on our recipe page so Rosie and I will be busy.
