Did some more weeding on the border at Blackleach this afternoon before it was time to go to school. This evening I put all the spray chrysanths under the car port and sorted them out into varieties, then decided which I am growing. There are 98 altogether and I sorted 14 to grow along the back of the border alongside the back lawn and 63 to take to the allotment.

Heather is here for the weekend again so I was able to go to my allotment this morning and this afternoon. This morning I planted two rows of 21 spray chrysanths. I told you yesterday that I would have to do some more weeding before I could do another row so I carried on with that this afternoon. I also sowed some swedes and turnips on the root crop bed. This evening I have done some more weeding on the border round the front lawn but didn't have time to finish it.

Went to the hut this morning and been on the allotment this afternoon and evening. I weeded another strip of ground for the third row of spray chrysanths and put the canes in. Behind these chrysanths I am going to put in two rows of gladioli so I carried on weeding the rest of the bed for them.

Like yesterday I have been on the allotment this afternoon and evening. I planted the third row of spray chrysanths and tied them to the canes and tied the labels to the top of the canes. I then finished weeding the rest of the bed for gladioli. I then started weeding a strip on the "others" bed for broad beans. Heather finished weeding my front garden.

Heather left for home at 10.00 this morning. Apart from going a walk this afternoon I have been in the garden the rest of the morning and afternoon. I put the tomato plants in position in the greenhouse. Spent the rest of the time (apart from watering) weeding the dahlia beds but didn't quite finish them. When Rosemary had gone to bed this evening I had an hour on the allotment and finished weeding the patch where the broad beans are going.

Today I have been on the allotment part of the morning and afternoon and again for a bit this evening. I have planted the gladioli in two rows behind the spray chrysanths. When I have dug the hole, I put a handful of sand in to help drainage. I then sowed three rows of broad beans on the patch that I have just weeded. At home I planted a row of gladioli in the front garden along the fence between us and next door.

Today I have been on the allotment this morning and evening. I have weeded a strip about a metre wide along the back of the potato bed for growing marrows. When planting the potatoes I had left a space for this. I raked some fish blood and bone in and it is ready for planting. When digging up the potatoes in the autumn I always go over the ground again in case I have missed any .After going over the ground twice I still miss some. So, the bed that grew potatoes last year has plenty growing now. This bed this year is what I call the "others" bed so I need to dig up these potatoes now to make room for other crops. So this evening, I started clearing a strip at the front of this bed for French beans.

This afternoon I planted fifteen plants of Verbena bonariensis on the border at Blackleach country park. I plant them here because they are good plants for wildlife. There is no garden club at school for two weeks because it is half term but I went to school on my way home and did some weeding on the main veg beds. Went to the allotment this evening, mainly to water ,but I tied the rest of the chrysanth labels on top of the canes.I had done one row before so I had two rows to do.

When I went to school yesterday to do some weeding I noticed that some tomato plants in the polytunnel were leaning over and needed longer canes. They only had 2 foot split canes in them. There were no suitable canes there so I have been back to school this morning with some of my own canes and put them all in and tied the plants up. We went a walk this afternoon and then I mowed the lawns. Went on the allotment this evening and planted eight marrows in the space I had made for them ,then carried on weeding the "others" bed.

Today I have been on the allotment this morning and evening and in my own garden this afternoon after going a walk. At home I have raked the fertiliser into the dahlia beds and put the canes in ready for planting. On the allotment I have filled up two of my three water butts .My courgettes havent germinated well and I only have two so I planted four that someone gave me.I also finished weeding a strip about a metre wide to sow French beans.

It will be a while before the area where the sweet corn is going can be weeded .They were omly in drinking cups so I decided to pot them up into 4 inch pots. Spent the rest of the time getting all my tubs ready for planting.I put fresh compost in half of my tubs each year and make a note which they are. With the rest I take half of the compost out and mix some Q4 with the rest , then top them up.

No garden club at school today so I came home from Blackleach at 3.00. When I got home I put all the rest of my dahlias under the carport and sorted them out into varieties in alphabetical order. I need 35 to grow on the allotment so I decided which I am taking and put them in seperate boxes. I am going to plant the communal containers on the allotment again and this evening I filled them with fresh compost .Someone else had emptied them.
