This morning I took the tomato pots that I had washed back to school. After, I did my walk round Blackleach counting the birds.I normally go at weekend but I couldn't do so this time .Janet, who usually help me ,couldn't come so I did it myself. I took Rosemary a walk this afternoon. It has been dry today but colder.

The garden was covered with 2 inches of snow this morning so I couldn't do any outside jobs.I noticed that one of my greenhouses was covered in snow but the other wasn't. I went in the one covered in snow and checked that the power was on but the heaters weren't . The temperature had been below zoro but the plants looked O.K. I turned the thermostat uo a bit and the heaters came on.Stayed in the rest of the day mostly carrying on with my writing.

No more snow fell but the other is still on the garden. The dahlias have been blackened by this frost so I cut them all down and put all the stems and foliage into 4 sacks to take to the allotment next time I go to put on the compost. Couldm't dig up the tubers because the ground is frozen.
