Looks like a well attended show Mary. Does seem strange seeing all these in the depths of our winter though.

They are superb Mary. How lovely to see these dahlias in the middle of our winter. It certainly keeps us interested.

Thank you, Cherry! I hope you felt an illusion of summer warmth as you looked at them.

Page 2 bottom row, the yellow one is not Alvas Supreme, and I think the Daleko Jupiter on the right is either Pink or Rose....probably rose. Anyone else think the same? Brenda T looks the best from those photos.

Is this the Daleko Jupiter photo you had in mind? www.flickr.com/photos/mary_on_flickr/8394211438/in/photostream/ Flickr can sort the photos a bunch of different ways, which is why I am checking. I tip my screen one way and it looks like the one I saw, labelled 'Daleko Jupiter'. I tip it another way and it looks like the Dahlia we call 'Rose Jupiter' here. The colour appears to change. I know that it was planted right next to Rose Jupiter, and that I did not photograph that, because I have one at home (not flowering). Is there a fourth Jupiter Dahlia that it could be? Is this what Rose Jupiter should look like in your opinion? www.flickr.com/photos/mary_on_flickr/6779075642/And Pink Jupiter? www.flickr.com/photos/mary_on_flickr/6953274795/When you Google them, you do get a lot of variation, and I think some of it is due to people getting the names mixed up. I am quite happy to take your word for it on Alva's Supreme. I wonder what it is. I set those two photos to private. I don't want to contribute to any confusion about names.

Have a look here at some pictures as to how I remember the Jupiters www.hallsofheddon.co.uk/catalogue/dahlias/giant-large-semi-cactusAs to Alvas, it's a yellow giant, just like it's sport White Alvas next to it. It was labelled as Alvas but they've got the lable wrong by the looks. Hope they haven't sent out plants from that stock........some people may be in for a surprise
