Stunning mattolo did you take any from upstairs looking down on your garden this year? That view was amazing last time you did it. Your garden is just jammed packed for life, lush greens and a rainbow of colours and shapes. Always love seeing your photos - thank you for sharing. Trying t and m delphiniums first then the blackmore and langdons. I got most of my named varieties from hart canna. They are virus free as are any grown from seed.I would be wary about using any rhizomes that I hadn't seen in growth..according to harts most dutch stock is infected.I heard they will grow in part shade, but flowering performance and leaf colour are stronger in full sun, especially in this country . I look forward to seeing your first delphiniums coming into bloom. It is exciting waiting to see what colours will appear!

Last year this bamboo escaped into a field from somebody's back garden. The footpath runs right next to it. So last week I went down there and dug it out. By the way the owner of the field gave permission. It's impressively large, tall and thickness of culm Have a look. It's now in my front garden. I hope it grows. If not it isn't like I've spent £40 for a bamboo plant. P2210434 by smifter2012, on Flickr

There were two shoots I was able to rescue P2210435 by smifter2012, on Flickr In the background is my neighbours destroyed fence (a bit like their house they refuse to do anything to it ).The dustbins are full of rainwater and those trees are sequoia(redwood), larix (larch) and taxodium (swamp cypress).I like my deciduous conifers .What's Japanese for large bonsai?

Here's one for Raymond.Part of my canna Australia is overwintering in the living room because I heard that this variety is hard to bring into growth if it goes dormant. The other part is outside in a massive pot covered with leaves and two crane bags. Hi mattolo I will order from Hart canna for front display to mix with the dahlias. The t and m delphiniums are the new Zealand hybrids. I have ordered them as plugs let's see what happens. I love your garden. Superb !
