Only did some deadheading of the Petunias & Morning Glories. Took a few more pictures! Checked over some of the plants, especially the tomatoes. They are growing very well & one of the self-sown ones has flower buds, so looking forward to seeing what the tomatoes look like in September when ripe!
Which reminds me, about a week ago I found another tomato seedling growing in the middle of the 3 troughs on the balcony railings! As I put all new fresh compost in the hanging baskets & the troughs this year the seedlings haven't come from any seeds that I sowed last year, quite apart from the fact I never save any tomato seeds. I used peat free compost in all my plantings this year so where the tomato seedlings are coming from is a mystery! I'm going to leave the seedling where it is but obviously it wont grow very big as it has a lot of competition from the plants already in the trough!

Nothing planned for today as now my shoulder has stopped hurting, I have managed to crock my knee. Do need to water some cuttings, but can hobble down to do that.

glad shoulder better, but what have you done to your knee?
My right hip ache has moved to the left hip now. I think we need 'putting in a bag and shaken up' so we settle back in the right positions, ache free.

Watering, weeding, wandering, pain interferes. Boss dug up the 'volunteer' potatoes, so some of them are in the pan. She got about 15 pounds which is not bad for peelings in the compost.

Yesterday I finished picking and pulled up my first row of pea's, and trimmed round the edges of the lawn. This morning I've skimmed over the lawn with the mower just to tidy the rest of it, although could have probably got away without it as it's certainly not growing as fast at present, unlike the weeds on the vegetable patch!

You would certainly go hungry from the peelings. More often than not she scrapes the potatoes rather than peeling them. These peelings would be from when we get a Veg box from Lidl with far more potatoes in than we can eat, so they begin to grow before we can use them. You don't need much from a potato for them to grow.

Mowed the lawn just as it starting to spit with rain! Did a bit of dead-heading before it got too wet as well.

As we were forecast hail and heavy rain from 7pm yesterday I moved some of the pots on the balcony floor further inside so they wouldn't be so exposed to damage. I left the petunias on the top of the balcony railings thinking of moving them closer to 7pm. In the event the forecast was changed and the hail was removed! 👏👏 The rain was moved to later so I needn't have moved the pots after all!
I took advantage of the situation to sweep the compost and grass cuttings off the balcony! With so many pots it's not easy to sweep them off the balcony.
