made a start on the small border at the front, I had planned to plant bulbs there, but most of the plants in there were well past their best, including perennial wallflowers, so I've started pulling it all out, the Fox and cubs plant is also coming out of this border as it has started taking over, I'll save a few and replant down the side of the drive where it won't smother anything else, had to stop early afternoon as we had our flu and covid vacs booked

Pulled a few weeds in walking past a border but as I was dressed up for going out to lunch didn't do much else.

I played "Musical plants" again! A few days ago I took down the pots in rings with Petunias in them. Today I put the rings back on the railings & put a couple of Cyclamen plants from last year in the rings as well as Primroses. None of them look very good really but I hope to get a tray of Pansies tomorrow & during the week put them in the rings in place of the Cyclamens & Primroses.

I took down and replaced an old shed a couple of weeks ago. I've spent most of yesterday breaking it up to get rid of. Also hoping to cut the grass today if it's dry enough later.

Started to pull up the Geraniums and pot up for overwintering. Also re-potted some grasses with fresh mix.

Too cold and damp to even collect more of the fallen leaves.

I didn't do anything on the balcony again as it was raining for much of the morning. I went out for 15 mins this afternoon to pick a few tomatoes & sweep the balcony floor. Trying to plan for what to do during the coming week or so after I put up the big, round table on the balcony & then put the mini-greenhouse on top of it.

Emptied the two hanging baskets off the arbour & potted up some plants from them to put in the greenhouse & then replanted the baskets with bulbs & plants. Cut back the echinops in the border which were very dead & keeling over now.

I've cut down the tomato plants on the balcony after I collected all the fruit that I thought might ripen in the kitchen. They were growing in half bags of compost as when I wanted to plant them out on the balcony I couldn't find any growbags in town. As we don't drive I couldn't go to a garden centre to get a couple. I bought bags of compost in town over a few weeks & brought them home in the shopping trolley! 1 bag just about fits while leaving a little room for the Saturday shopping!
These bags of used compost will go into the planters around the cash machine in a couple of weeks' time. I bought 3 bags of 30 mixed Daffs to underplant whatever I decide to put in the planters around the cash machine for the winter.
Once I'd removed the tomato plants & the bags of compost from the balcony I set about moving the shelving unit that was in the corner of the balcony to the place where the tomatoes had been growing all summer. Done that I proceeded to put the legs back on the table & put it in its usual place in the far corner of the balcony. But before I could do either of those things I first had to move lots of pots to the far end of the balcony to give me space to erect the table. Eventually I got the table reassembled & then I got out the mini-greenhouse which will be the next thing to assemble!
As there is so little space on the balcony these have to be dismantled for the summer & put up again during October every year! Then in May they have to be taken down once more! I fear this winter may be the last time I shall be able to use the MG as, in spite of the oil I put on the ends every time I put it up, many of the tubes are beginning to get too rusty & they might not survive much longer! & I may have to buy another one next year!

dug out the small perennials at the front and replanted the border with wallflowers and bulbs, a revamp of planting will be left now until spring. Potted up the plants ready to use later in the back garden. Raked up some of the fallen leaves at the top of the garden and had a little bit of a tidy up round the shed
