All I did today was water a few plants that needed it & swept the balcony floor. There was a lot of leaf & flower/petal rubbish, as well as pigeon droppings from the weekend. The only other thing gardening related was to water all the plants I have in the flat! I think there are more inside now than outside!

I was out all day with a friend, but we did stop at a garden centre as our last stop but didn't get anything

Made a start on cutting down the dead Rowan. Sadly my mini chain saw has packed up. Annoying as it was only a few months old. The gears have stripped so it no longer turns the blade. Neighbour did cut some of the dead stuff off for me and I shredded that. The rest of the tree will have to wait.

Finally got round to emptying a big pottery pot by our gate that has spent the summer embarrassingly full of weeds. It was one of those jobs you keep meaning to do...but never get round to it .It's all clean now and refilled with fresh potting mix ready to be planted up.

Inside a perspex shelter there were gaps in two places, between the edge of the path and the wooden side, so I filled them with stones and broken crocks, and ready mixed concrete on top. I then poured water on it from a watering can for it to set. Now I can put things there without them falling into the gap, or tipping over.
Here's one of the gaps before and after ...
Then, while I was at the bottom of the garden, I could hear a woman coming up the little road that passes there, talking to her dog. She gets on my nerves, doesn't stop talking, and keeps me standing around for ages, so I hid in the shed until she'd gone past

I have to admit to doing that in the past Eli That gap looks much better now, it's one of those jobs that annoy but eventually get round to doing, I've got lots of them swept the leaves from the patio and raked the ones on the grass, I was going to cut my grass but it was too wet and didn't really dry out all day

Leaf collecting again. Still a lot more to come down. Had to stamp on the leaf mould pile to make room for more.

Can't say I blame you! Where we lived in a block of flats in Spain for many years there was a lady that would often catch me as I was coming home from taking our kids to school or perhaps from doing the shopping. She lived on the 4th floor while we lived on the 5th. There was no lift at that time so we had to walk up the stairs & past her flat. She often kept me talking on the landing outside her place! Sometimes, if I wasn't in a hurry, I'd stay & talk to her - when she let me get a word in edgeways that is! Other times I'd try & make a quick getaway.
