How long will it take the local moggies to find such lovely fluffy soil to use as a toilet, I wonder? When I planted out the Cosmos seedling in July I also used some compost left over from changing the compost in the hanging baskets (I have 7) to bulk up a bit the "soil" in the planter I put them in. It only took the cats a week before they discovered it! I didn't have enough spent compost to put any in the other two. Anyway I emptied the compost into the planter before I had given any thought to putting in plants myself. I expected the Town Council gardeners to come round & plant up the containers. They didn't so at the end of July I decided to do it myself! That's when I first started my "Guerilla Gardening" exploits!

What I plan to do after the weekly grocery shop is to dig up a few of the Dahlias that I've tagged up that have outgrown their space. I will find them a new home next Spring. They haven't been frosted over but time marches on and I can't wait any longer.

Planted out a couple of hundred chionodoxa, alliums & Queen Brodiaea bulbs/corms in the borders by just poking a dibber in, dropping each in & poking some soil over them, still lots left to do.

More work on moving the raised bed. Took the broken concrete to the tip. There is at least another 2 car loads still to go. Trampled down the leaves on the leaf pile, but did not get round to collecting any more. No wind so they are staying where they are on the Drive and the garden.

Finished building the new raised bed walls. However, inside is tarmac and hard core so having to dig it out before putting in any soil. Hopefully once the top is cleared, water will drain through, If not then it is a whole new world of pain to deal with. Edited to add. The water drained away nicely.
