Thanks. Now with probably a bit of help from the various pills I have to take (8 would you believe) I can now move about a bit more albeit rattling when I move I have experienced pain many times in the past and as I alluded to when I was in Marines we underwent interrogation techniques to be able to withstand pain. Anyway it was so bad that I couldn't even chat up one of the lovely nurses. (lucky for her) Anyway all being well I reckon I will get the lawnmower out if dry and maybe do more than just look at it. My respect and admiration for the NHS staff has grown even more lately.

got my other heated propagator out of the loft, cleared space in the greenhouse to set it up. Moved a lot of perennials outside, then did some more tidying in one of the borders, I can't believe how so much had gone to pot in just a year

grindle since installing my g'house heater I haven't had to use it yet as lowest temp. so far has been6 degrees above freezing and i believe you are resident in a similar climate to me. Keep your heating for when really needed.unless of course you are growing very tender stuff.

at the moment sweetpea I'm trying to keep the tomato plants going, and some tender climber seedlings, as soon as it warms up overnight, I'll be turning it off Gave the greenhouse a good clean inside and stood as many plants out as I could, had to water all the pots that are standing round the house as they've got so dry

I emptied an old grow bag into the compost bin & another onto a border around the roses & sorted through the over-wintered plants in the greenhouse throwing some of those in the compost as they weren't showing any signs of life. Watered all the hanging baskets & lots of the pots too as they were dry with lack of rain & the drying winds.

Still working on the raised beds. I cut the 4th one down a bit to make it narrower and gave them all a second coat of green paint . I as thinking of stenciling a picture with acrylics ob the front of the two big ones but don`t know if that would be "too much" fixed the black arched pipes in place to bed 3 slicing my finger in the process , just hope the plaster is enough . No more Diy for a few days

I hope your finger mends soon ladybird , it sounds painful ... I like the idea of a picture on the side of the raised beds. They do look a bit boring don't they, especially when there's nothing growing in them
I tidied the shed. I can actually get in there now. I found a succulent Euphorbia that needed repotting and had been in there since last year, waiting, so I repotted it , watered it, and put it with the others in the perspex shelter

Got the lawnmower out and actually cut the top lawn. Also got my hedge trimmer started and sheared away a lot of overgrown stuff round the edge of the grass though have no idea when I can take it all to the tip. Intending to cultivate that strip and plant it up with colourful flowering plants but that depends on how fit I am and also the weather. At least we have a reasonable sized garden so this isolation business is more bearable than some of these poor souls stuck in a wee apartment or as they say in Glasgow,'A single end' On a personal note I seem to fall asleep most of the evening and also right through the night without having to get up for you know what. must be all these pills rattling around inside. Got lots of Celandine around. I know they can be a bit invasive and tend to take over but they do look cheerful so i leave them for now. Most other stuff is coming to life now with buds opening and leaves appearing so not all doom and gloom.

ouch ladybird hope it heals soon making a raised bed in the greenhouse for tomatoes but hadn't got the right fixings, so had to order them, then went on to do more border clearing, not much to do now, hopefully then it will be warmer and I can start planting out all the pots that are sitting round the house

Hope your finger isn't too bad ladybird, be careful if you do any more D.I.Y. I've got a nice clump of lesser celandine down by the pond sweetpea after you recommended it to me a few years ago, very pretty! I potted up 4 little mini 'Baby' cucumber plants out of the propagator & sowed a few 'Totem' tomato seeds & some 'De Cayenne' chilli pepper seeds to replace the 'Anaheim' which didn't come up, don't know if these will germinate either though as they were open & sow by this year.

I have spent the morning scanning the internet for cheapish uv polythene. The delivery charges from the mainland are steep. I finally found a company in the South of Ireland "Polyrope"and have purchased some from them, post free , which is amazing as posting a package to the South is usually more expensive than to the uk mainland. I`ll believe it when it arrives.
