first attempt at collarette...Ann Breckenfeltder. Supposed to be 1m tall, but is about half that Supposed to be an exhibition variety, but never having shown one before i wouldn't know. I think that the bloom is at the right stage for showing...help Tel, but i think it would lose points because it is not symmetrical.

Your bloom is not quite ready in your pic, scrumpy, they say it is spot on, when the bloom has two rings of pollen showing. This bloom has not reached that stage yet. Hopefully some of your blooms will be more circular,
There is not a dominating collarette around at the moment.

From growing them for the first time, there isn't a lot of leeway between having them looking like above to going to far over. I would say they need cutting, well this variety anyway, no less than 12 hours before judging, because that one has gone to far over now.

Ryecroft Brenda T plus friends....spot the thrips competition Excuse the dirty hands Never grown it before, not a bad size for my garden, grown 6 up. That was an early bud i left to flower to see what it was like. Probably one or two days to go, but rain forecast so thought i'd cut it.

and here is Ruskinn Bride. It has been grown 6 up off a poor cutting!!! It is close to maximum size...the ring is not down as far as it can go and these are the 3 off the plant arranged. For all of you starting off on the exhibition trail, list the 3 things wrong with the arrangement. Tel can have a go too....

I'll have a go....... First thing comes to mind is that they are all facing in different directions. They are all different sizes... The bloom to the right is more immature than the others..... ?

I will just say give me two more to match the right hand bloom. Then i could look the judge straight in the eye.
