Come on Station House I want my Moor Place & Ryecroft Zoe
Come on Halls I want my Tisa & Edwin's Sunset but more importantly the girls want their Hillcrest Hannah & Amber Festival Maybe today will be the day. I picked early April because I could be in so that the poor things didn't stay in their boxes wilting.

Then there are my confessions with my Paula Jayne fuchsia. I love it and bless it was so beautiful, even won a 1st at the show. It flowered throughout the whole winter and I just didn't have the heart to prune it, I just didn't want to cut off those lovely flowers.
When I went to our town show, I went and confessed to members of our local fuchisa society who come and sell fuschias (Of course I've never bought any there). Received a kind but wry look and they asked if there were any new shoots. Yes.
See exhbit A below:
So they said that I could cut it back to about half it's size.
Thing is when cutting it back to half it's size I didn't know when to stop and so now, it looks like a child whose Mum was drunk when she tried to cut his hair with a bowl on his head.
It looked a bit drastic, so I ended it up stopping, in case I cut off all signs of life and kill it for ever. I feel so guilty. I had a book on fuchsias for Christmas but did I know where it was, when I started doing it. I felt I'd delayed it for too long and so just went in and did it.
Embarrised to add a photo and felt like a murderer cutting it in the 1st place.
I went through the branches I had taken off, took the ends down to the greenhouse with me. Dipped them in rooting powder and put them in compost in a pot, wishing I read up on Sweetpea's advice about how to grow cuttings.
The cuttings actually look still ok, very different to the poor cuttings I took off of the Star Wars fuchsia that I bought at the show. When we were there P-)was given a fuchsia as a Birthday present from the man that I'd asked for advice from (said he was kind - not at all patronising like some experts). So I let Fairy choose one for herself and came out with a few myself, well the other 2 needed some extra friends to keep them company after all.
Still guilty about my poor Paula Jayne. Hope it recovers, so that I can trim back the longer bits that I left, so that it is all the same size.

HH made the mistake of asking, if I was waiting on any dahlia deliveries... didn't get a word in edgeways Fairy Pink Wellies I know that I've typed it out quite lightheartedly but actually, it really is a big deal to them. Was surprised at Fairy but not as taken back as her Daddy. (n.b. She was not rude or stroppy just frustrated).

There I was happily watering my tubers on the last tray when I heard a
MUMMY!!! MUMMY!!! MUMMY!!! MUMMY!!!
I stopped and dashed up to the house to be greeted by: "I'm sorry Mummy but he was about to go..." and a daughter clutching a box preciously.
"Is it our dahlias...?"
I checked the label, no, yes they are dahlias but no it's not yours. Do you want to see what they are like inside?
No - they both flounced off, not happy. Not happy at all. They'll be getting tickets to Scotland(ish) to collect them themselves, if they have to wait much longer...
Some are mine (in the purple pots) and the other 3 are Dad's.
He'll be round later (I hope he'll be happy with the way that I have potted them up).
Got to stop now, girls want to do some sewing.

Updated:Oh and somewhere along the line I've said 'yes please' to a Weston Corsair from Dad, pity I can't get a Weston Sunset... my fingers are still crossed that I can get a Weston Stardust at the plant sale. Wish I could have a big enough garden so that I could grow an area just of Westons or maybe a red patch... I do look like dark red dahlias but then I like the purples... Going to stop now. Another early night.
Oh I really do hope that my Halls order comes tomorrow. Fairy pink Wellies is off to camp on Friday, actually the penny has just dropped, she is worried because she thinks that it is going to arrive while she is away. If it comes on Friday, I wonder if I could gate crash the camp with a parcel for her to unwrap...? Think that would go down like a lead balloon.
One of the plants that my Dad ordered from Station House was Marston George. I mentioned that I'm getting one myself...

Tired now HH has got up and I can hear him getting ready for work. I started searching for images for my Rogues Gallery and ended up trall through my photos. Took a lot of photos last year. Might go to bed after HH goes to work. Hip still hurting. Maybe I should have taken full dose. Try to avoid taking additional medicines, I'm a walking pill box already, if I shook myself I'd rattle.

I was very happy having a lovely dream in the land of nod when two shouting children: "MUMMY MUMMY MUMMY MUMMY It's the post!!!!!!"
Well it isn't the dahlias which they recognised straight away by the shape of the parcels and they disappeared off to back to the game that they were playing upstairs.
I've undone them, made a coffee whilst having a biscuit and come here with the update.

It might be tricky to tell from the photo but I have 3 Red Balloon seedlings waking up and at least 1 Downham Royal seedlings on the way to.
