Right I can go to bed now, it's been annoying me that I hadn't been able to do this a few days ago. Just too much to do and I really need to concentrate and do a lot of searching back in my Diaries. Think it was worth it.
Priority next year must be on our front garden which looks horrible and has been seriously neglected. Truth be told once I had mucked up the Novice class at local show (because I had won in the dahlia competition and had become ineligible to enter. ) the drive to do something different fizzled out and my Seedlings took over. I was really frustrated that I had grown these gorgeous sweetpeas and yet they triggered off HH's hay fever, when he went into the room, I took them out of it. I am going to try again but I need to be a lot more organised about how and where I want them to grow. I don't have any plans of intentions of showing them, just grow them because I just love them. Their scent may trigger pour HH's hay fever but I find it intoxicatingly beautiful, like Jasmine but even more so. I just need to get them a special place in the garden, rather than grow them in the greenhouse and bring them inside to enjoy. It'll give the bees something more to enjoy.
Cheered myself now. Night All!

This is the Amber Festival that I saw in our local paper. It was grown by Pirate (n..b. very much not me, trust me she wouldn't have it any other way) and she came 1st. Photo was taken at the show a while back now but it only went in the papers last week.
It's taken a while to get this photo sorted out as I've been a bit busy recently.

Clever girl! She seems very advanced in her growing and showing. You must all be very proud of Pirate.

Clever girl! She seems very advanced in her growing and showing. You must all be very proud of Pirate. Proud of both girls, yesterday I asked Fairy if she wanted to have a go at going through seed heads and search for seeds. Pirate had had a chance to do her own a while ago but Fairy's were later. She was very keen and loved it. We did it together and her fingers are much faster than mine. Ended up with a nice pile of Brenda T seeds.

Moonlight you should also try some oriental lillies you can get the pollen free ones still heavy scented. The smell is totally divine and they look fabulous.

I remember reading horror stories here about Lily Beetles. Put me off a bit.

If you see them crush them and use ultimate bug you should be fine. Try a small pot of them near the kitchen door the smell is fab.

Or, if you really want scent without taking up too much room get some seeds of night scented stock Mattholia bicurnis i think that's how it is spelled. Just sprinkle around and although the plants are small and don't look anything the scent is WOW! Especially in the evening......warm summers evenings the best

I don't like intentionally killing things Raymond. Fair enough moonlight . But they are a pest. Brought into this country in the mid 1940s not a natural beetle of the UK.

I almost missed my train stop tonight looking at old threads. I liked your happy Halloween. I adore your downham royal.
