Can't be tempted on the Sundance, I've seen Clearview Sundance - way too tall and not good enough for my Dad to want to exhibit. Dad won't be growing his again.

Dave Spencers grew 8feet ! He showed a picture last night was touching his covers. Better get some very big canes ! Hahahaha only doing 2 of them.

Dad said that if there had been a dahlia show on bonfire night he would have had a show-able Sundance exhibit, it has taken them that long to get a decent centre!

How Many up did your dad grow it up moonlight ? They had the same problem with the centre being heavy in Kent I am going to attempt to grow it with a double stop and 6 up as David hall did and he said it was much more refined and centre good.
The most important part of that phrase being attempt ! Hahaha
It has the most amazing tuber. Solid ball of it. Looks a very robust dahlia.

Grown it 2 years and haven't had any good enough to exhibit. Dad suggested that you get a long pole with a mirror to try and help you see the centres.

Dad's grew so much taller than the canes that when some of them caught in the wind, they blew over, they were too heavy and tall for the canes to hold up. Dad uses 3 canes per plant.

Christmas is coming and the girls and Daddy are keen to crack on with the decorating. They want the tree up. Which leaves me with a question that needs me to ask. We have been going to a plant Nursery for years to visit Father Christmas and each year Father Christmas gives them a present and a baby Christmas tree.
In the past we gave them over to my Sister because we thought that she would have more luck with them than we do but last year we, well actually it was me, so last year I planted them in the pouring rain while everyone else sat in the lounge chillin. Humpf. We didn't really do a this is your tree Fairy, this is your tree Pirate, to save arguements, they are both their trees. Well actually I claim them both as 'our' family trees as it was muggins that planted them with very cold wet hands in the dark. Not only have they survived, they've even grown a bit!
Now I have left them alone and they have just been able to do their own thing. They are not what I would call a dark green Christmas Tree colour. They are a little paler than that but still green not yellow. Just wondering if I should risk giving them a little something to help them green up a bit.
I need to take a photo.
So that's my gardening question of the day. What feed can I give me Christmas trees to make them feel all Christmassy and Special.
