Some of you may remember, we've been tidying up the front of the house, some pics to show we haven't quite finished it yet, and showing it far from tidy
We're a bit further on that the photos show. We've the fence totally finished. The gate isn't made yet. The planter to the right of the gate entrance has the wee begonia out and transplanted on top of the fence. The planter to the left of the gate is now planted out with various things. There will be a gap between that planter and the next one on round, as a summer seat will be on it. The steps are away and half of the ground has been bricked too.

Thanks Cherry, it didn't come cheap, though we're doing the work ourselves, not as simple as it's getting dark so early now. The wee begonia on the top of the fence, have you any idea will they come again and if so how can I protect them over the winter?

Oh wow... that is looking REALLY good KC, even in its half-way stage.
I can't wait to see more photographs as the project goes on.

It's looking very neat KC, the little begonias though are bedding plants & won't survive the winter outdoors. Most people just throw them away when they get hit by the frosts but you could try potting them up before that happens & keeping them in your mini greenhouse if you want to try & keep them alive.

KC, that will be a stunning garden once the hard landscaping is done. Well done you and your other half.

Infact he chiselled and kangoed the dash off the front of the house one day last week. He's been mixing the cement etc too. We've all just mucked in and all fairly enjoying the majority of it. I hope to have more pics to upload on Monday as hubby and son are off today and tomorrow and aim to tackle a good bit more of the front. I can't wait to get home, I hope they get a lot done lol

I will probably dump the majority of them, maybe try and over winter a dozen or so just to see how they fair.

Thanks grindle. I must take some more photos and get them uploaded here. The weather has been so rubbish the camera hasn't got much showing.
I have SO MUCH to do, it's a bit more daunting now as I've been diagnoses with tendonitis and early stages of arthritis in my hands and hip, Very peeved at that it has to be said so to be able to continue working at much long as possible I am going to have to do less at home, gardening included, so annoyed. I am going to have to scale it back, within reason!!! It needs to be more manageable out in our back yard and more user friendly for me. I am going to have to go through my seed packets and decide what is going to be easy on my hands and what I need to sell on or swap.
I also need to clean out my greenhouse and get it ready. I need to decide whether I'm going to grow a lot in the greenhouse or use it for storage only, I've a lot of pots that I need to store, some that still need washed. I am unsure what to do.

Just bought an expandable x-hose, very excited about that just to wait on it being delivered now. The xhose order was cancelled just on the mouth of Christmas, after delivery kept being postponed. Since then I have been reading online reviews about them bursting etc and not working at their full potential in UK due to our water pressure etc So I don't' know if I should reorder a different one or not? What do you think?

I hope you are not in any discomfort ? I also hope it doesn't discourage your gardening. It was your photographs of your back garden, and all those hanging/climbing plants, and things on the shelves, that really inspired and encouraged me to start trying to make the roofgarden more 'decorative', as well as giving me ideas (read: shamelessly copying what you had done). And then - of course - there where the lemonade-bottle "watering cans", of which I now have several Do keep us appraised of how it is going KC, and I'd be delighted to chat with you about seed-swaps.

Thanks most days its not totally unbearable and while I admit the news really disheartened me, it also made me feel like drastically downscaling it all, but like you say about all my hanging/climbing plants and shelves etc (thank you so much for saying that, that makes me want to keep at it). I think I'm more peeved because I'm young lol. Not shamelessly copying what I'd done at all lol  yeah I noticed that about the drinks bottle lid Thank you, that'd be great about the seed swaps. I intend to bring my seeds box out over the next couple of nights and try and figure out what's going to work for me. Some names I haven't a clue about lol
