sorry to hear your news KC, but don't be downhearted and scale back on your garden, the excercise will do you good when you are able, you would miss not having plants to nurture

I agree with grindle KC, try not to give up hope & give in to it, your back yard is wonderful & I'm sure you'll be able to adapt things to make life a bit easier. I'd give up on that hose you were after from the sounds of it & get something similar after checking out some reviews.

Thanks grindle. I must take some more photos and get them uploaded here. The weather has been so rubbish the camera hasn't got much showing.
I have SO MUCH to do, it's a bit more daunting now as I've been diagnoses with tendonitis and early stages of arthritis in my hands and hip, Very peeved at that it has to be said so to be able to continue working at much long as possible I am going to have to do less at home, gardening included, so annoyed. I am going to have to scale it back, within reason!!! It needs to be more manageable out in our back yard and more user friendly for me. I am going to have to go through my seed packets and decide what is going to be easy on my hands and what I need to sell on or swap.
I also need to clean out my greenhouse and get it ready. I need to decide whether I'm going to grow a lot in the greenhouse or use it for storage only, I've a lot of pots that I need to store, some that still need washed. I am unsure what to do. So sorry to read this, KC . It's awful when your body won't / can't do what you want it to do. there are lots of scatter directly in the ground seeds that you can select. I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions.

KC, I was diagnosed with chronic Osteoarthritis in my wrists just before Christmas, and I am blowed if I will give in to it. I will manage and adapt to it. You can do the same.

It's true, I know, and there's worse things in the world, in my early 30s and need to keep my job as long as possible, so I couldn't help but think if I ease off on hobbies then my job can last longer if that makes sense

My life is all about gardening and I have no intention of giving any of it up. May I suggest you try Glucosamine, which is pretty good at easing/repairing joint pain/damage?

Today, so far, I looked out at the plants from the kitchen door while holding a steaming hot cuppa that HAS to count towards doing something gardening related today???

It's called 'planning time' and a very important gardening process KC

I'll try anything at all, Thankyou Hate the side effects of the steroid injection I refused point blank to have the injections. They are very painful, are not reliable and, as you say, have some nasty side effects.

I'll try anything at all, Thankyou Hate the side effects of the steroid injection I refused point blank to have the injections. They are very painful, are not reliable and, as you say, have some nasty side effects. The injection itself wasn't too bad though my son still finds it highly amusing that although it's my hands/hip that's sore, I had to get the injection in my bum!!!! The silly nurse did tell me to stand still, the thing is she didn't tell me 'when' so I lit off the ground and near landed in the next hospital wing lol The Doc did say it may or may not work, for a short or long period of time if it did work, and it could help a little or a lot, that it was only a trial I got the impression it was also to perhaps help diagnose along with the x-rays etc. But it's the side effects I hate. I've ballooned, I'm itchy, I feel hungry all the time but eating less cause I'm also feeling off and on sicky as well as I don't want to overeat and balloon all the more, oh and I've a permanent dry mouth which is just about ready to drive me insane.
But the bonus is it will wear off, hopefully sooner rather than later
