Well the wee plant that I planted into the top of the fence is still alive and seems to still be growing ok, despite the 4" approx. depth of soil and the cold and frost. Fingers crossed.
I haven't got much else, if anything done, as it's been way too cold, and plenty of snow has fallen during the night.

I had thought of something like a big staple if that makes sense. But don't know if such a thing exists or would even work

I thought that at first KC but I've never seen one - doesn't mean it doesn't exist! Good luck tracking one down :-)

Well I've been AWOL for a while lately, just manic at every turn. But been getting a lot done. I've been on the forum but not talking much lol. The back yard is now starting to see some spring growth FINALLY!!! The front has taken shape FINALLY lol. Not 100% finished but definitely almost there I have been buying plants for my father in laws house lately - strawberry runners - 1 buddleia - 2 rose bushes - 1 forsythia - 3 fuchsia - 22 climbing roses - 1 Raspberry - 1 Philadelphius - 1 Hypericum - 1 Spiraea I was also given 2 fast spreading plants with a tall pink flower that stems up from the thick leaves. Unsure what the plants are but as they're known to spread quickly and kind of take over they'll be put in planters/pots also. I've divided the plants into 4.

There's a green fence at my father in laws house. We're going to be kerbing it, I was thinking of plants lavender along the kerbs, some bits will be wider than others so I was thinking of planting red dogwood behind the lavender in the wider areas. What do you think? Red and purple? Not sure but the colour of dogwood is stunning and it's interesting all year round. Also the lavender would be great for bees in their orchard.
