I don't know about that Cherry. My dad's mother always came to us on Christmas day. She had a daughter but it was to us she always came.
Beryl's mother always went to her son for Christmas too ...
I have an aunt who has 3 daughters and one son. Where does she go for Christmas ? - to her son.
..........
Today we went to have a lovely Christmas lunch in a garden centre near here. It was a very nice carvery, but I didn't go around the garden centre because it was too cold, and Beryl was very achy with her joints and wasn't able to wait for me.

I should have said 'generally' @hywel.
We are having my husband's son and family for dinner on Sunday to exchange Christmas presents. They are coming from West Yorkshire and not staying overnight, but son is used to driving distances in his work.

Thought I would share this with you all: linkThanks for that Jim. My grandfather was a young sapper in the Great War. He was gassed at the Somme, I believe it was. He died of cancer in 1955 when I was 4 years old.I can still remember him though almost 60 years later.

My brother's son and his German wife (living in Germany) always come to Wales for Christmas. They've never had one over there. And I know lots more people who go to their sons for Christmas day too. I would say it's about 50/50. I worked with elderly people for many years, and I can tell you about half of them would always rely on their sons more than their daughters.

Well, I have started wrapping presents, and I finished decorating the Christmas tree, too.

OK @hywel. You have not only made your point, I now give in to your view.

We have all the cats round when turkey is being carved. They are not all invited either. as for people, no idea who will be at the table apart from myself, Maureen and one daughter.
