Pleased to say winholm Diane, Mary's jomanda, hillcrest candy (pot tubers),senzoe ursula, the 3 hapets all sprouting Or with proper eyes. So only waiting for Weston pirate, nenekazi, Clearview Sundance, hillcrest candy field tuber, parkland rave and some bedding one's. Clearview Debby got 7 Shoots on it. Some about half an inch now. Hi Raymond, Pleased to see your tubers are doing well. I have had tubers of Winholme Diane on the heat mat for 42 days and still showing no signs of life. Are your tubers still in your bedroom? Last season I started off my tubers inside the house and had a better rate of success than this season. I am now beginning to question which is the better method. Yesterday I started off 2 tubers of Kenora Valentine inside the house to test my theory to see how long it takes for them to produce Shoots. Tubers on the heat mats that are starting to shoot are White Charlie 2, Dikara Superb and Willo's Surprise. Hi diggie I guess I have been able to maintain a nice steady heat. No fluctuations from being in a greenhouse Or outside space like a garage. The fleece tent ian seems to be helping greatly. Weston pirate and others throwing loads of hair roots so just a matter of time. Field tubers will always take longer to get going than pot tubers from what I here Although ryecroft zoe and senzoe sprouted from field tubers Thanks scrumpy. My Diane and Mary's are pot tubers 4 of each. It will also vary greatly as to the variety and of course the quality of the tuber itself as binned a couple already. No cuttings yet so fingers crossed. I need to able to root them though. Now that will be the fun part. Hehehe Good luck ! Ps will be interesting to hear on your Valentine. I have a pot tuber here but not growing it going to a friend.

So things progressing well with tubers. One winholm Diane pot tuber has 10 lovely green eyes. Between the four of them 20 eyes or sprouts.
Still waiting on nenekazi, parkland rave, Weston pirate pot tubers, Clearview Sundance pot tuber and some bedding one's. Everything else has sprouted or with Loads of green or reddish eyes.
Spent the day today digging main dahlia bed. Dug loads of rubble out and dug in lots of peat and manure. More to be done Still.

I noticed this morning in checking the tubers before work that my second shoot or sprout from ryecroft zoe is coming through. They come from quite low down. Know this for next year. Also the angle I set the tubers in. The Austrian one's where split field tubers and cut to the crown so hard to tell where the eyes where.
Also some bedding woken up parc princess, lilac favourite ( my name for it ) mignon sunshine a pretty single with dark foliage so only waiting on a couple of things now 2 Weston pirate, nenekazi and parkland rave and a couple more bedding. Over all I am very pleased. Shoots or sprouts ! Hehehe

Changing set up later this week. Moving tubers under desk with a grow light over them And heat mat. Smaller heat mat has arrived my main one is two big for the area. thermostat and grow light should arrive today or tomorrow. Want to use the vitopod properly for the cuttings. Off to first dahlia meeting of 2015 tonight .

Got the chance of half an allotment plot, just mulling it over! It's 7 miles from my house on the way to work.
