Any recomendations for bug killer anybody? Plagued with blackfly on our plots. Bugclear Sybol ineffective. I just blasted them clean today with water and a touch of washing up liquid. Trouble is they keep coming back and bringing a few friends! Used to get Murphys tumblebug years ago but no doubt it's on the long list of banned products. That was highly effective. Hi Dave I've had a touch of black fly and been spraying provado and py made by vitax got rid now will spray every week now regardless , I found three ant nests around my dahlias so I dug them up and blized them with ant powder I think I got rid of 90% of the problem by doing this so check around your plot for ant nests , put some ant powder around the base of your plants if you only got 70 should be a fifteen minute job good luck .

Thanks Steve, Ian and Raymond. The Decis Protech I can only find a description of, but not price or stockists. The Provado or Py I'll get some, seen both on ebay. The Americans have some cheap Insecticides/fungicides ..... in pint containers too. Obviously the postage is pretty high! Saw one on ebay, Malathion and you only need 1 and 1/2 tespoons per gallon, would last me years! Got ant powder from Wilkos already but not really seen many this year. Hope all your Dahlia plants doing well.

Is that vitax good ste b . Bug clear ineffective this year. Will see how this decis works. Spotted some early mildew so will spray . Was only a matter of time with the dryness here. Dahlia are romping away. To the point battling them. Off to take on kenora sunset and Ac Abby . Both beasts of plants. Firing stems everywhere. Got some very large buds coming on kenora sunset. Hopefully full medium size. And tie the rest in. All the best for the season.

Py worked for me , it's only contact spray so you after use regular it's cleared my back garden up dahlias and other plants. If you can get decis it's better stuff use that put a drop of fairy liquid in it before you spray.

Yea the Zoe sport is a very strong plant good clean stock oh and yes the centre is ok hehe. 7 days till the first 3 flower for me Cut today, had plenty of heavy rain and wind on them. Not bothered too much with them, apart from spraying for insects of which there are plenty down the allotment.

ste b Decis protech from jfcmonroe 20.90 plus vat for one litre. Delivery is expensive but I have ordered a few things from them so all coming at once so makes it more reasonable. It had better come this Thursday. They where out of stock of one product. I have began foliar feeding. First two feeds where root feeds. Only going to feed once a week to 10days. Except the ones in pots which will be twice a week at half strength. Got more tied in this morning. Was a mission with Weston pirate the breaks are incredible and moving very fast. The kiwis are slow. Wyns favourite is responding to the big knock back like winholm Diane Tel. I was worried I was to aggressive.
