Hi Steve, Most are stripped down to numbers and lower leaves removed on moonlights and Kiwis, Diane's to do, height nitrogen feed tonight with Epsom salts to get it in the plants system. Miniatures will need some buds knocking off them, but in the main very very pleased with the majority.

Well lost three pink suffussion. They got so badly damaged the other week in the blistering heat I did not hold out much hope. I fed them kept them moist but to far gone. A pity . The other three ok and starting to motor on. Tackled a few brutes of plants today . Got lots more to. I don't think you have lost a right lot with your Pink Suffusion, I did grow it in my early days 4 up 3 up never got a decent size out of it im afraid.

Tel It's funny you should say that as part of my feed I use is potassium nitrate of which is used to kill tree stumps. Anyway do you know something I don't Tel ? I might even use high Nitrogen feed as well as the "height Nitrogen" Worms in a mucking fuddle again hehehe

Is it advisable to apply High Nitrogen feed at the same time as the Epsom Salts...or does it not matter if one is applied a few days later?

Hi Steve I won't be chopping any moonlights down I prefer to grow them straight up and may run on a few buds Yes I would rather grow all my plants straight up , but in this greenhouse timing is a problem had some very good moonlights last year and four days before southport they ended up on compost heap all sixty of them flowers not plants, so am trying to time it so I don't need the knock back, they will be on the show bench this year will after see which one?.

I would have liked to the six to at least have a back up if winholme Diane damps off. Only got the 4 Ursula and the two wyns and the Diane. Very happy with wyns as a plant tel. Really robust and a nicer looking plant than Diane.

Tel I gave Epsom salts with high nitrogen in main bed. After they all budded up I could of had all the zoe, candy, Ruskin Michelle in full flower end of June. Not given Epsom salts yet to Mary's jomanda or the front display yet only the nitrogen and they all have budded up bar peach delight and Clearview Daniel. I have noticed that topped cuttings bud up super early. The garden friends I topped after it got decapitated budded up as soon as it rooted. From my perspective as a novice grower it is something I will try to avoid using in the future. Same with dikara superb it budded up very early and was topped cuttings. Just an observation from what I saw this season. All this reducing to flowering numbers etc.... Is getting me bamboozled. Have not got a clue ! Hehehe Into the pit I go. I will give one more nitrogen feed across the plot and front and pots then onto balanced and seaweed bar the kiwis . I tried something I have never used before. Wormcast compost in my mix. The plants I used it in are far superior in health and habit to the ones I did not use it with. The big difference especially in two winholm dianes. I have ordered more. Both from same stock , planted at the same time. Fed the same Same mix bar one had 5 percent worm cast in the mix. I will apply a thin layer as a top dressing then mulch on top on Thursday.
