Weather forecast not looking good for the week ahead. A lot of rain predicted and cooler nights.
Had a good look through the plot the zoe sports alot of damaged one's.the zoe are better candy looks promising. Think Michelle won't make it . Grenidor pastelles might, Andrea might . maybe wyns and winholm Diane and some senzoe Ursula. Dikara superb a possible as are some Mary's and Clearview daniel. Looks like a am about a week late on a lot of it.
Got the other show 10days later so not all is lost. Will see how things look on wednesday . Just keeping them well watered although so much rain a month on three days they don't need it. Ground very wet.

This I am starting to like. Sharp pointed true cactus Ac Abby . Took a real battering in the rain. Bigger than the small ring. Although a bit of a bi colour seems to have even colour through it. This I like and may grow again in numbers as I have loads of hopeful pot tubers.

Severely disheartened here this morning, slug damage again. Obviously either not doing regular enough or not right method, some plants looking dreadful after all the rain. Advice anyone please? Nematoids, pellets, other?

Use the liquid Cat slug clear must be on a dry day in a fine rose watering can and water the foliage and soil. It will dry on the leaves My problem now is fungal. Mildew and smut. I want to spray but dare not with so many blooms coming out. I might just spray the bottom half of the plants. Gonna need to my kiwis are a mess. my attempt at a dikara superb no centre I think is this what you call a blown centre Tel ? Have no clue what I am looking for come Friday and saturday hahaha understand cactus better.

Thanks Tel personally not Impressed with this variety. Getting dumped for next year. Rain is pounding the dahlias. Totally fed up. I hope some of the stuff coming through gets moving. Gonna need it. The variety I am most concerned about is ryecroft and greenways zoe. A lot of malformed blooms and heavy petal damage some nice ones opening now. Hillcrest Jersie and Ruskin Andrea seem to take the weather better here fingers crossed for them. I think to much nitrogen giving me soft petals. Doubt I will have a winholm Diane after today. Hey ho. Show what I have its all you can do. Off to work ugh !

ian ste b scrumpy Tel you think a candy at this stage will be ready for Sunday ? About half open I have 4 like this and another 5 about 1 to 2 rows of petals behind Centres look similar as well. Already over the small ring . I have 3 grenidor pastelles a little ahead of this and 5 kenora sunsets that look good even colour. Ruskin Michelle is just too small the first bloom did not make the small ring. I luv it though.

They look pretty good Raymond try to keep the leaves away from the petals, then if you say they are for Sunday. I would cut them late Friday evening or very early Saturday morning, cane them well and put the stems in deep water and keep them cool I put a fan on to keep the air moving to help prevent damping.

Been doing that ian I have been taking any off that is interfering with the blooms or tucking them down. Can only do my best. Thanks for tip on fan. Will look at them on Friday and decide if cutting some that evening. Majority will be cut very early Saturday morning. Then a process of trying to find some matching one's.
