All the dahlia's that are potted up have been out doors for the last few days. There is a chance of frost here tonight, after a bit of juggling they are now all back in the greenhouse. Tomorrow will bring them all back out again, no frost forecast here for next week, so fingers crossed they can stop out. Well what goes in, must come out.

I don't know ian. They have not been watered or misted the only ones I misted where the ones in sand that flagged in the oven heat down here. 26 27 here and summer house gets very hot. no lid on propagator doors open newspaper over the cuttings today and yesterday. I do have another 7 Candy cuttings that I took on the 10th and they so far seem ok. Will see what they are like when I get home. Worst case I get the plants from my society plant sale. might drop candy and focus on smalls for this year. I have until end of month to decide and see what happens. Might get more from another small. I am not worrying now. Grow what I can get and get hold of and see what happens. Would like some of the new ones to root as a waste of money otherwise.

Well I have my answer about sand. The whole tray of 40 cuttings wiped out by the heat today. The tray for 40 in coir perfect. Both next to one another had been covered in newspaper. Lid off propagator all day Doors wide open . Soil temp still over 20 degrees I think it got to 28 hear today in the sun.
The only good thing all bedding dahlias bar some Hapets But these for plant sale so stuffs me on these useless. Unless they fire through some more. Some of them might be salvageable bit not much have misted them in vain . Not sorting tonight so Fed up with this.
Taking some cuttings tomorrow morning ryecroft zoe , hillcrest candy winholm Diane, parkland rave and some marys all ready. These will be in coir .
Better place this halls order I guess for beddings one's now And not for what I was expecting to order . Really annoyed as I wanted to grow wishes and dreams for myself and my Irene but think I got all I was gonna get especially off wishes and dreams.

My first Halls of Heddon delivery arrived today. A Small order but all perfectly formed. I am most impressed with how well they were packaged, the concise labels and instructions, and above all the super quality of the plants themselves. The plants were wet with good roots. Delivery was next day and at the time of year asked for. 2 substitutes and 1 sweetner provided. It is always difficult when a newcomer to anything to know what to do but I followed my mentors advice and gave them a try and I am very pleased I did. Tel . I hope Dave dahliadave gets to read this post, his and his teams hard work shows in the quality
