Got the taste buds going there dcdshlia some great pics , my propagating hand is starting to twitch. I remember seeing the vase of Mary's jomanda at Harrogate .

I took a cple of cuttings today they were ones down the allotment that had cuttings on I am going to try jack gotts method of setting them away in plastering sand as they say nothing ventured nothing gained I had to turn the heating off for a few hours as the greenhouse gets the sun all day at one stage it was 86 lol

Happy New Year everyone and a happy new growing season hoping it brings you all you wish for! Not had time to be on for a number of weeks as Dad has been in hospital twice since October after having a couple of minor strokes and pneumonia. He is still in!
Dahlias all set away now and some starting to show signs of life. I'll try to get a few photos on this week. New varieties for our 2015 trials started to come in early December.
Catalogues all sent out-hope you enjoyed looking through it Lou- and everyone else who got one of course! Best wishes again for 2015!

Not had mine yet. Dad is going to bring his today for me to look at.
I've lost the other 2 of elsewhere that I had. Dad is coming round later and one of the dahlia lists is Dad's copy and I can't find it which he lent me and there isn't a website for that one.

Been looking at hallscatalogue , am looking at mini ball dahlias , grew ryecroft Laura last season looking to replace it , has anyone grown Blayton lady in red, seen her at Harrogate and looked good. Had great form with strong stems.

Had great form with strong stems. Steve, I was going to try Laura Ryecroft this year. Any grow tips or advice you could give me

Any grow tips or advice you could give me Its a nice dahlia mark ,I double stopped it for Harrogate I grew it in a bed with Mary's jomanda and lancresse ,so all got the same treatment with feeding, Laura stems where long and sappy some where bending over with the weight of the flower I gave them plenty of potash , could have given them to much nitrogen , Mary's and lancress where ok.

have been visiting some of the lads on here met up with ian k before xmass he was explaining about showing im glad I just let mine flower I debud a lott but never realised just how much time is taken into showing dahlias
