Happy New Year everyone and a happy new growing season hoping it brings you all you wish for! Not had time to be on for a number of weeks as Dad has been in hospital twice since October after having a couple of minor strokes and pneumonia. He is still in!Dahlias all set away now and some starting to show signs of life. I'll try to get a few photos on this week. New varieties for our 2015 trials started to come in early December. Catalogues all sent out-hope you enjoyed looking through it Lou- and everyone else who got one of course! Best wishes again for 2015! Sorry that I didn't properly take in that your Dad isn't well when I initially read your post. I was so busy rushing around.
Hope that he manages to get better soon. It must be very difficult to balance such a busy time of year with your business and be there for your Dad and the rest of your family.

Spent the day in the greenhouse, getting everything ready to start 2015 season. The new hotbox bed works a treat, and my neighbour, Skippy, had some kingspan 50mm insulation board leftover, from his loft, so I've got a nice base for the Hotbox to lay on . Tubers are in their trays, just waiting for the heat to be put on later this month. Really looking forward to my first year of showing, hopefully more highs than lows, but I'm ready for both..... I think

@markymate good luck ! Your lots more organised than me not had a minute to do anything. Need to get my act together. Bench ordered though coming next week. A warm welcome from me as well ste b daitheplant and scrumpy been offered a 10x12 greenhouse from a work colleague for free need to go see it and check the condition also check I have enough room for it. Don't think I will have time to prepare the area for it now she is in no rush to get rid of it so can have it all done for later in the year. Landlord has decided to extend the whole back of the house so will be growing in a building site ! Going to be interesting to say the least. Good luck everyone for the coming season.

I am trying to sort out which ball dahlias to grow next year and I only want to grow balls that are true balls (rather than dec balls e.g. Mary's / Jomanda)
Am going through all catalogues for ball dahlias but especially looking for good photos. It says on the Halls website that Raspberry Valliant is Does this mean that it has more of a traditional ball shape rather than bordering on the 'dec' shape?
