we sail from Southampton. Yes Lou it is amazing. The Fjords very very early morning are great with just the ripple on the water as the ship slowly make its way up the Fjords the mist the colours and the waterfalls its majestic. ? We are really looking forwards to it. Back to the Dahlias. I am hoping to have them all planted out by Thursday at close of play. I am planting out just short of 600 with 38 varieties planted far far too many but I could not just grow 8 or 9 varieties for championships 50-60 of each like some growers do. I have my bankers that in the main will be used in Championships then I have new varieties a few pre-release novelties and others I am trying some will be good and others may be better with a bit of luck some may even get considered for inclusion in Championship entries. Fingers crossed for the season for all us Dahlia nuts. Ah.....so you've been before then.....yes majestic........and magical......enjoy!!! I'm sure you will have many Championship entries......or we want to know the reason why not!!....lol

I think the plan would have been better colour coded ala Moonlight What do you think Cat. How are Dahlias doing? We all have different master plans- mine being to keep mine alive! And so far ian it has worked lol. I like the idea of colour coding I must admit. Mine are just for garden show this year and so have just been done per border, front border is mixed red, purple, white and shades there of only. Back border is yellows and oranges only. Then Che bed and new bed are mixed colours. I guess this is my colour coding lol

My Dad packs in his seedlings but 44 of 4 varities - the mind boggles. Cat I am totally luck. Totally random. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by all that some of our members achieve. I aim for 1 maybe 2 and pushing it for 3 of any variety.
Wishing you Good Luck.
Good Luck to Everyone here.

I've planted out my dahlia seedlings...after giving them their "bath". I've staked them and tied in the first row of strings......this will keep the cats off 'em...
