There is a DVD Tel with David Boyd, Roger Turrell, Derek Hewlett and robin Pearce three hours long from propagation all the way through. 25 quid though. Think it worth it though. Going to a dahlia great on Thursday 91 year old Arthur dashwoods plot the president of Kent dahlia society. Has raised some great dahlias and won at national level many times. Still grows nearly 200 plants mostly smalls. Think I will be too early or too late on a lot of it. Will know by the weekend. Mary's to advanced. Will run lots of the wing buds. Hey ho ! Hahaha I like the idea of a dvd from big guns in the growing world but there is no way that I can justify that kind of price, a fiver maybe!!! enjoy seeing Mr Dashwood, that will be a great trip, with great age comes immense knowledge

Tel I am going to ask around and see if anyone has it and I can copy it on the pc. Cat it will be very very good also visiting John Carters plot as well multiple collarette champion on Thursday . Arthur knows so much on showing and breeding. He has had many good sports over the years one being yellow Lakeland sunset. His latest raising Shirley Winters a small Dec is lovely like Brenda t but more refined I am told.

Oh what a beautiful morning la la la la la la la Covers on today and plants just about where I would want them, some colour showing plenty of buds and plenty to take, Happy days.
Tel, Wyns is a cracking colour and a good strong plant just waiting for it to come out fully no fading............. Yet!!!!!!
I have two other small decs I am trying one from Les Stottard called Everest (being released by Halls next season) a beautiful white with a mauve centre and one from Don Kershaw a very very good yellow dec not unlike Diane with a harder petal unnamed as yet.
Clearview Edie is a very strong plant not as early as Challenger but looks to be out of Challenger a much stronger grower just about seeing the buds.
Scrumpy Zoe sport very good colour in the bud, Moonlight sport it's a moonlight usual an insignificant small bud that eventually swells into producing a medium bloom.
The Moonlights have been with us for 40years and still one that if you grow for individual championships you need to grow superb varieties Eastwood especially where it all started, then all the sports. Thank you J Sharp esq

MarkE I ordered a few plants from ndc and to be honest not happy with any of them. I have binned some have given others away and although people saying they are nice not of the quality that there shipping charges warrant. I have only got one left from them a strike a light as I want to see it flower as bred from kenora sunset . In bud if not good binned immediately . I do not think I will order again from them but never say never.

Finished going through disbudding for the 2nd time today. Still a number of varieties where no buds secured as they are so late and sooo short!! 2 years ago we had nearly half the varieties showing colour now. This year we have some flowers fully open on 5 varieties and buds just starting to show colour on another 30 or so. I would say we are now about 7-10 days behind. Much warmer today and could see a difference in growth from yesterday but a few visitors disappointed at the lack of show. They hadn't realised how cold some of the nights have been. There should be plenty out for our NGS Open day on the 13th September though- and hopefully plenty for Harrogate! Bircumshaw Garden Friends is one of the ones just starting to flower with a few other of our trial varieties not far behind. Will be posting some on our facebook page as and when they come into flower. Best wishes to all of you showing this weekend!
