???This is not good news ian, and so young too. There have been a few "dahlia greats" going to the dahlia beds in the sky lately

It is very sad that 3 Special Dahlia Growers in a short time have died. Told my Dad - very sad, made me think how lucky I am. Dad and I both are thinking of the friends and families but also, thinking that from what I've been reading that these people have led by example. People who listen, encourage and always play fair, pointing people in the right direction are special. that their example continues - much more important than the memory of a name engraved on a trophy.
Like I said, thinking of them all, friends and families.

Tel can you tell me more about David Boyd ? He won tons I heard. Untouchable . All I can say he won a lot of Championships at the National and Harrogate. the Growing with Champions gives a list of them. I do not know where the DVD is. One year in the Terry Clarke at the National one of his blooms the stem bent right over, think it was Kenora Challenger, but he still collected enough points from his other 4 vases to finish second, that gives you an indication how good his other 4 vases were. David Gillam said, Simply the Best grower and a great man.

There is a DVD Tel with David Boyd, Roger Turrell, Derek Hewlett and robin Pearce three hours long from propagation all the way through. 25 quid though. Think it worth it though. Going to a dahlia great on Thursday 91 year old Arthur dashwoods plot the president of Kent dahlia society. Has raised some great dahlias and won at national level many times. Still grows nearly 200 plants mostly smalls. Think I will be too early or too late on a lot of it. Will know by the weekend. Mary's to advanced. Will run lots of the wing buds. Hey ho ! Hahaha
