Go on robh worth a shot my friend. Been away for five days and goodness me looks like a botanical garden. So much in flower. Got some issues a Mary's jomanda has collapsed and taken Clearview Daniel with it. Got a glut of flowers now. Show on Wednesday a small one and I might enter the Kent horticultural federation show on Sunday. Although some things looking at peak now.

Took loads of blooms off, some at their peak, some OTT. Should put some strength into emerging blooms. I'm reducing the number of replacement shoots in the hope of getting some half decent second flush blooms. Maybe 4 or 5 on the smalls. Have last show on Oct 11th so hoping for late sunshine. Good luck at your show, I'm at Edenfield Saturday, a tiny show next to the River Irwell in Lancashire. Should have MJ and T Millenium at least. Bad weather forecast midweek Raymond so it's a lottery really.

Our ngs open day is out of the way. Even had a Red Arrows fly past! Raised over £1000 again and had a fabulous display of flowers. Lovely sumny day with about 500 people through the gates. A few more people converted to Dahlias! Next up is Harrogate. New floral hall this year so could be interesting! Just hope the weather is not as bad as forecast for everyone who is exhibiting as it has the potential to be an excellent show.

That is great!!...sorry I couldn't be there....as son's ladyfriend was running in the Great North Run. Hope the new stand is lucky for you....and the Premier Award is yours again. Fingers crossed the weather behaves xx

Well done Mark. Was really good to meet you and have a chat. Like we said, you learn so much more by stewarding and listening to the judges. Great experience mate.....

Thank you everyone. Harrogate was great learnt loads just from that three hours stewarding with Dave Gillam and the other judges and seeing the lads staging for some of the night making it look dead easy and getting to have a chat with all these top growers who don't mind sharing there ideas with you ,thank you Ian for everything and making sure I got to steward the poms, it was good meeting you johndoe like you said I'm sure in a few years we might be up there fighting for championships!

Can I ask dcdahlia why you cut off all the flowers now? I haven't had frost and still have flowers. Beginner question lol Thank you
