The Corner 2014
That was the plan
Note the stump
Stump hidden under the manure
The black pots of seedlings are getting fewer but poor Fairy's Hillcrest Hannah still blocked. I made a very big mistake on that one.
Edwin's Sunset in larger pot on right.

Well done Moonlight, so now get on with planting your Dahlias out. Hehe Thanks ian, been told by my Dad to. No Rotavator unless there is a minor miracle. I've been told to clear the area in preparation for digging - I think my Dad is going to teach me to dig properly, very important considering how random my digging has been when I was trying to dig up that stump.

2014 in full bloom
The pots on the left are my rejected Fred seedlings which I didn't have the heart to compost bin. Must be more ruthless this year. The main reason there are so many non green patches in the lawn is because I left things on it for too long. Have to be more considerate this time round.

Question: So what do you do in a pit in the garden? Answer: Practise your swimming skills!!! No Pirate is not walking the plank, she is doing something called 'A step entry'; (Imagine walking the plank) you literally have to step into the water and not jump. I like photo 3 because she hasn't landed yet. My next photo is of her turned round grinning at me. Luckily it was a grin because it could oh so possible that she could have just gone Splat! Anyone who has had a child (or may even remember yourself doing it) have swimming lessons in the last few years will know exactly what I am talking about.

After coming down to inspect the pit - HH was very keen to crack on straight away and get as much soil off of the grass and regain the garden path.
So with his little helper, got stuck in straight away (not literally).
Not that she was keen to do the same bit that Daddy was working on but...
Love this photo - HH fights back after having soil repeatedly flicked at him. (Lots of laughter!)

Barbarry Pip is about 3ft, Wyn's Favourite can be 4 - 4.5ft. Marston lilac 3.5 - 4ft Thanks Tel What about Blyton Golden Girl and Barbarry Surprise? In my head it must be so much easier when people grow large numbers of individual beds varieties. Me, 1 plant per area and I'm trying to contrast the yellows with the deep dark colours and the smalls to the side of the miniatures. I want to include the Mary's / Jo for their 'similarities to typical Decorative' dahlias, rather than with my Ball dahlias. I went them to the back and the side of the Decs. If they are any good I will have to exhibit them. At local show any way. At local show, I can have 2 entries per class and for the Ball classes, I want to use 1 Mary's / Jo for the small class + 1 Blyton Golden Girl (1 single bloom class and 1 vase of 3 bloom class). Minature will probably more than likely double entries of Mary's / Jo, not sure if Clearview Daniel is up to much or Sheila but if I do have a stunning Downham Royal I'll enter that.
This bit is the really fun and yet really frustrating bit.
The harder part is yet to come. Barbarry Surprise 3.5ft Blyton Golden Girl 4ft - 4.5ft

Oh wow... your garden looks wonderful, Moonlight. It's the first time I've seen wider-angle shots of it. You put my terrace to shame.

Having to start again with my corner, trying to allow for the height differences to review.
Anyway, time for an early night tonight, got work tomorrow. Roll on Wednesday night.

I think maybe 4 for my seedlings and 3 for the others, can't remember. Will ask me Dad and look up in the photos.
Although I may well be a tad late for you it is worth looking it up for the future.

Hot, wet and sticky - so if I am feeling hot hate to think what my plants are saying - to each other, probably moaning that they had to wait too long.
Don't blame them it is too hot.

Having to keep potting on bigger and bigger ! Hahaha wyns fav is a big plant now as I know you are growing it. Looks like it will be bigger than marys jomanda by the look of the leaves. A whopper I must say. Think I will do some four canes and some three.
