Thanks for that. I will compromise and put them in a bigger pot, but they will sit in the garden.

Next year I intend to have seeds of both green and red Ricinus. Treat this year as a practice round so next year we will know exactly what is what.

I got some seeds from Chiltern, eventually - they'd run out to start with. The ones I sowed are supposed to have red flowers. We'll see. I've just checked the name - Ricinus communis var. gibsonii. It'll be interesting to see both side by side.

I agree. That is very dramatic, but is beautiful too. I just repotted my Bists/WF two and put one out and the pinker one into the conservatory. Worth growing.

I'll be collecting seed this year so there will be plenty to go round. I looked them up and they come true from seeds so there will be plenty of both.

That's good. I'll be planting some of mine out this week. If/when they do seed, I'll obviously let people know.

Why have you only got one plant, Lou? Didn't the other seeds germinate?

Yours really have taken off, Wf. Mine are doing OK, but not nearly as tall.

Do they need full sun to turn red? All the ones I have in the conservatory have green leaves, all the ones in the garden are turning red.
