Thanks for the information bists, I've got Stipa gigantea and tenuissima which both grow well in my garden. I'll try and get some seed for capillata and Pony Tails. I like mixing the grasses in with my perennials

The Ponytails is just another name for tenuissima...if you like other perennial grasses try Pennisetum (fothergills and T & M) they grow brilliantly (the varieties Tall/Tail feathers, and cream falls are gorgeous, and again really eay to grow from seed) Bists

Yesterday I did a bit of seed sowing, gazanias (sunshine mix and big kiss yellow flame), lisanthus (Cinderella Blue and Arena Green), Ricinus Impala, Nepeta Clarekei, cleome Cherry Queen, Melianthus major, dahlia Bishop of Llandaff (according to Chilterns), stocks fragrant bedding mix, Veronica blue Bouquet.
I was in two minds whether to leave it a bit longer, but have lots more to sow in March/April...

I pricked out 3 cocaea scandens seedlings, 4 ricinus Impala and 4 ricinus NZ Purple into 4" pots...The dahlia, stocks and gazania seedlings are getting quite big, but not at the pricking out stage yet.

I seperated and potted up these Cortusa matthioli pekinensis. They are too close I know, but I did not think they would grow so well. I bought the plant in Scotland in June, and my son brought it down with others in his car. I just sowed the seeds right away to try them and it worked. Not bad for a plant which is described as a rare and treasured relative of the Primula.
