The crew turned up at 8.30am, the director, researcher, camera man and the sound engineer, Carol arrived a little later at 9.00. After a quick coffee we had microphones connected and were straight into filming. The camera was a huge bit of kit but it did mean it was always at a distance which made filming easier. I was concerned that meeting one of my gardening heroes might make me more nervous but Carol was just brilliant and helped every step of the way. We filmed all day with a short break for lunch. It is amazing how much footage goes into a few minutes of program. I declined having a photograph taken with Carol (I’d had my fill of cameras) although I did ask her to sign my book. The OH did take some photos during the day, I’ll get him to take them off his camera and I’ll post them later. It will be shown on Friday the 6th of May.
