Don't worry about the mess. It's work in progress I love your dahlias, and the square bed with slabs round it is pretty.

It would be a shame to move out Floydie, after all the hard work you are putting into your garden.

You've worked really hard this year Floydie and have a lovely colourful garden now ;D Beth's plants have filled out really well too ;D I see the geraniums on the bank have made good growth You could break a few bits off them when the annuals have finished and re-plant to give you some ground cover over winter and some early spring flowers ;D

What progress you've made in the last few months! It's all looking so colourful and although there's more work to do, the way you've tackled the rest, you'll get there. Beth's garden is very pretty - I bet she's thrilled! ;D

Thank you all Tel i don't know if i want to move out its still on the cards for a few years down the line i think..... I may let OH go and I'll stay here . The square bed isn't fully square round the other side a slab cuts into the bed as they are miss matched (the slabs i mean) Ive started digging out the very small lawn for my shrub border so Ive got to take up the huge path slabs and the ones at the top to make a new lawn (next year anyway). The slabs lower down from the clothes hanger are staying as they aren't bad and it gives the kids some were to play on there bikes/scooters . Hopefully it should all be done for next summer (front included) ;D

What a huge difference you have made. The last owners did like their slabs. It must be such a pleasure to see all that colour instead of grey slabs.

Slabs are every were tut tut. I'll have to put up with some of them theres no way I'm ripping them all up and removing hard core . The neighbors are commenting on the garden so it must look better .

The work you have put in there is quite unbelievable Floydie. It looks lovely.
Looking at the amount of houses round about, I have to say, was a bit of a shock. That is a huge amount of houses and people very close to you. It looks as if the whole town is being redevloped.

That is a huge amount of houses and people very close to you. It looks as if the whole town is being redeveloped. Oh yes they are knocking down alot of houses, old buildings. This town was affected by the thatcher movement and hasn't really recovered (it was a mining town with close links to rail way and the canal), the amount of empty factory's was high (all along the canal). I don't know what they are planning for those sites but i assume it will be more houses. There is something like 180 semi detached houses, terraced & bungalows on this street we live on a main bus route. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexborough

Thanks for that Floydie. I know a bit more about the area now. It sounds like it will become a dormitory town as the old industry is finished.

Yes its very much like that now with more jobs being in Doncaster, Rotherham & Sheffield nothing much here really just shops/market, pubs and a few call centers.
