Been to B&Q and got 3 bags of compost and a bag of soil improver , the plan is now to get out there tomorrow try and get as much grass and weeds out of the bank then mulch around the plants with a mix of compost and improver , I want to also dig over the very dry soil in between the patio and veg bed and add some of the mix also .

Your garden is coming along nicely, I agree with grindle, no grass to be seen. Keep Beth interested, she is the gardener of the future. I had my own little patch at that age, mine had a tiny pond in it, perhaps that is why I love my pond so much now

I'm sure it will be back . A little wild life pond/bog is on my list for next year if i can find the right place. I was thinking of putting one were the hosta's and ferns are if i can level the soil off enough. I can remember helping to dig my mums pond when i was a little older than Beth ;D. I just used to help my mum at her age, the garden was already there so i had no little patch. I used to collect seeds and randomly throw them around the garden ;D.

I hope you could tell between 'weeds' and 'not-weeds', then! ;D

It took alot to post these , not as easy on the eyes as the views out on to all your beautiful gardens . I think it shows the garden shape and size better from above (minus what you cannot see just below the window ) Look at the view now some of the empty houses have gone shame we carnt extend our garden .

What a difference you have made Floydie, it's looking great. I hope no one builds on the empty land now, it has given you a much nicer out look

Much more open - I hope it hasn't caused a wind tunnel for you? Thanks for the photos - it helps to see a different 'angle'.

This view of your garden shows just how much you have already achieved Floydie and how well you've combined an area for the children to play and your planting and sitting areas. Your white hydrangea is looking very good Have your taken any cuttings? They are easy to do
