I hope Tel is ok. Let us know Cherry Lou78W if you here from him. Some pics from yesterday . Strange lighting in hall so pictures not great. But lovely hall to stage in and made most welcome. Single bloom narrows Sonia came 2nd behind a nice avoca Amanda . I will grow this again next year. Need some petals removed I think or maybe grown from.a wing bud. Could easily get this to full medium.

Some more pictures First small semi cactus or min cactus or semi cactus with zoe. I think I should have used three Andrea in stead which I had. One zoe a little small which cost me in the best vase. Centres where good and the petal lay consistent and colour even.

First in three distinct blooms used an Andrea a Mary's and dikara superb. I am having problems with the petal lay on dikara in general they flick out. This was ok. Getting better centres now. Andrea is a great dahlia. Thank you scrumpyI still have a lot of work to do on staging. Think I staged some a bit high. Need to work on the right hand bloom I always seem to have it drop on me. Practise practise .

1st with three Mary's . Colour a bit washed out but all three the same so ok. A couple of split petals and a bit flicky but cleaner than the competition . But finally some reasonable closed centres. Again need to practise practise practise the staging. The left bloom dropped down a bit after judging. It was better than this.

2nd min Dec with dikara superb. Now getting better centres but flicky petal and not tidy. It got beat by a nice vase of marston Susanne and marston Karen. Although they look like ball dahlias to me. Dropping dikara for next year.

2nd in travellers choice class. I feel I should have won this but never mind. Supposed to be more a display minimum of five blooms could be mix of dahlias and chrysants got beaten by 5 barberry pip and not a great set of them. Staged it very quick. The public went crazy for Hapet perfect which I will grow next year as can be fim or bi colour. Used 2 Andrea, 2 zoe, 1 Michelle and bit better size, 1 Hapet perfect.

Third collarettes . I had two garden friends and one got damaged and dropped a petal. So had to use a spare the middle bloom a seedling of mine. With a Claire De lune. If I had three garden friends like this I would be Very happy .

This is what the public liked Hapet perfect everyone admired it . I like it zero damping off. Grown in my display wth only wings buds and next pair down. I think one to use in bi colour and fim class next year. Centre a bit young. Has good natural depth. Could easily get it to full medium.
