Excuse my ignorance, but what is the double orange flower with the black centre? Lovely plants. ;D It's a Rudbeckia Cherry, Cherokee Sunset.. I really loved it, but unfortunately it was nobbled in winter 2010. (Think it's grown as an HHA anyway) Thanks for that. I must keep an eye out for this.

I got told yesterday that they do vanish, G, and mine have every time I've tried. That's it - no more. I managed to keep mine for a couple of years, but last year there was no sign. A short lived perennial.... ah not my bad gardening then

It appears this is one that can be an annual if you want to treat it like this, so that explains the loss of this plant.

Reading about wildlife gardening...I saw a 'bug hotel' at a Ryton Garden Organic and wanted to make something similar but in proportion to our garden...so I came up with this last Autumn.
