While rummaging around for some old catalogues I found this (Pic below) Bit of a trip down memory lane as some of the oldies on here will remember. Perhaps rosie or Cherry will explain for the benefit of our more recent members.

Did we buy it for charity sweetpea? I didn't because I was not into all this 'fairy' stuff. I do remember the calendar for esther's charity which was a small one to benefit children like her granddaughter. I really believe that was a good charity and we got a lovely letter back from them. Rosie will know about the little booklet you found. I remember Freaky Frog.

Well you are certainly mentioned in the story cherry along with most of the other forumites from that time. i think this one was just the hard copy version of the online story which FF got printed for us although as you say, rosie will probably remember. Quite a few names from back then, froglady, sootycat, jasmine, alisonM, lavender blue, lexiR and mother goose of course. I think our steve was 'Stefan' or possibly the inspector. Some of the names were from GN folks eg geoff stubblechin (work it out)

Everyone was very kind supporting Lily's charity and it was good fun the other charity we supported was for children with cancer I think. I think Sue Camm did the calendar

I didn't have it either but I remember it vaguely, the photos look like Mothergoose's garden, I remember she was always getting us to join in written Christmas pantos as well!

I might use that recipe ladybird, just read it though & it says add egg but there is no egg listed in the ingredients, is it just one egg do you know? It's like a recipe I used to have which had cold tea in it, can't find that, I had it scribbled on a piece of paper from years ago! I'm sure I've still got the calendars somewhere but all my old paperwork etc. is still in boxes from when we moved, probably in the garage.

I think Sue Camm did the calendar Sue C. also did the heading for Garden Friends and Fractal did the long picture on the top. Both clever and artistic. We are building up a history here.

The cold tea fruit cake is very nice. I have eaten it but have never baked it.

You know, I still have all my stuff like that too.Its up in the attic in a box I think the story was written by Di aka Mothergoose and each character was a reincarnation of forum members. I recall Sue doing the calenders for us, she was a graphic designer at one point I believe. All the money we raised for all the books/calendars went to different charities. I know we did Clic Sargeant and for Lily, Esthers wee grand daughter. It was the Garden News and Answers the old forum was linked too. Lexi was our main contact as she worked for the magazine. Once she left it really just fell by the wayside, and the way they shut down the old forum was just not nice. I know Sue (WF) took a lot of the old forum over to here for us, she was a great member!! I was trying to remember how long the folks from the old board have known each other, it must be quite a number of years by now
