Early in 2007 I was looking on line for something to do after having a pacemaker fitted. I was still taking it easy and was weak owing to the heart problems before this. That is when I found the forum and I loved it. I wanted my favourite flower as my avatar and forum name, but could not understand how to work it and ended up with the other name which is Cherry. I do not like cherries, as we grew them on the orchard and I picked them for pocket money for years.

What is you favourite flower then Jen? It has to be ................................SWEETPEA When the old forum first started way back I think it was advertised in GN. Anyway I jumped in straight away and the only other member was Steve which made me the second member if I remember correctly. It went on from there and was a success until they decided for whatever reason to close it. However what we have now is something very special, A friendly and informative forum with minimal moderation. Long may it continue.

I joined right near the beginning as well sweetpea, there were only about 4 or 5 people posting, Steve soon recognised that I was the 'SueA' who wrote about my garden on the readers' gardens page in Garden News. I remember that I thought you were a girl because of the name at first - I soon realised my mistake!

Ha ha. 'Minimum moderation'. You are the only worry for moderators sweetpea. Also, the amount of kitchens and trainers we have to get rid of is quite amazing. In fact the forum would be just for these subjects if it was too minimal. Of course, we don't have the glamorous pics we used to get of one of our young members.

One of you should write an "official history/pre-history" of the forum for us newbies to read

No Roofie, we are all modern trendsetters and we look forward, not back. We had fun, but you are making our memories now.

Actually one of the things I do miss is the quiz we used to have on a Thursday night. Louise started with good intentions but it soon descended into anarchy, in the nicest possible way of course. Then there was that pair peace lily and ? from gardeningunplugged where we actually got prizes some of which I still have.

James you are such a sychophant.

Yes daitheplant. Those pics gave us some excitement and made us very nervous. It was quite a dramatic time.

The quiz was a good laugh sweetpea, I remember one night SueA cracked up at my spelling mistake, I said I found white fly on my pants instead of plants

I would have laughed Rosie but I don't think it was me, I never bothered joining the quiz because I was always doing something else when it was on.
