I'm growing it too JD, was given a few tubers last winter. Didn't propagate too well for me but I've got a few of them growing. Think it's a fab looking MSC. Will post a pic when they're in bloom.

Looking forward to seeing your photos David. I showed Clearview Louise last year, which was okay, but I think Rob's Symbol is better, that's only my opinion though!! I brought two cuttings at the NDS AGM, 2015, so I'm building stock and learning how to grow it. Hopefully will have it in numbers to show next year.

Hi, well the shows are nearly upon us so buds from now on in are welcome. First show for me hopefully Southport Flower show on the 18th, then find a show at the weekend. then off to the Midlands show always a good show and a good indicator of who will be hot or not for the season. Then we are really into the show season. Well upto now it has been a good growing season, lets us hope we now get some sunshine to give us the great blooms we all strive to perfect.
Good luck everyone Ian

My first show is at Edenfield Lancashire on the 13th, really nice spot by the Irwell. They make you bacon barms while you're staging! Hope I have blooms ready. Next season thinking of also growing a row just from tuber divisions to get early flowers, all my plot neighbours have Dahlias in bloom from the tubers I've got rid of previously. MJs, Trengrove m, Luke to name but a few, all in full flower. Plus side of 'farming out' tubers to people is you can always source stock if you decide to grow it again! (trade them for fresh plants naturally) By the way Ian congrats on being made VP!

The very best of luck with your first time showing Cat. You will find your fellow competitors will be only too happy to help you set up your vases.

You'll be fine Cat. You and Che will have a great time. Make sure Friday night you have all your tools ready, i.e., tweezers, cotton buds, pens, name cards, oasis, trimming knife, etc. Oh, of course don't forget your judging rings . This time last year I was in your boat, nervous wasn't the word, I couldn't sleep for two nights up to the first show. I had so many doubts, but once you get to the venue go and see the show secretary, get your cards and away you go. Just one bit of advice, make sure you put the right vase in the right class!!! Can't wait to hear from you, and hopefully pictures. You two have great fun on Saturday and good luck

More boring pictures of pot tuber dahlias
Weston Buccaneer, which I'm hoping to show next year A very soggy Mary's. Does take the weather well
A very early Ruskin Myra One of my favourite's, Blyton Golden Girl
Wasn't going to do a show until the Midlands on the 27th, but as I've got a few to run on, I've stuck in an entry form for the 50th anniversary of The Sandy show on the 20th. A sort of pre-season friendly so to speak

Going to show Oakwood Goldcrest for the first time this year, so I hope the show ones come out like this early pot tuber bloom, only better .

Couple of views of Tel's Wyn's Favourite. Told his family last year I'd try and get them on the show bench if I could. Managed to get some cuttings and this little vase was a quick arrangement done this morning. Hopefully there will be at least 3 left for Shrewsbury Show next week. They area a little on the small side at present but now I know a bit more about them I can try next year to get them a little bigger. But nice colour and form to them, and they've survived several days of rain and wind quite nicely.
