Here are some photos of my exhibits first Kent on sunday First single bloom large or giant members with trooper Dan. I had a bigger and deeper one right to the ring but bad centre so.used this one. First arthur Ashwood cup two vases small.cactus or semi cactus . Used ryecroft zoe and Greenways zoe . First collerettes with garden friends. Super proud of this vase. Beat John Carter a national winner and also my first won over dave spencer who came second . Second open class medium semi cactus with Ruskin michelle behind Dave Spencer's Eastwood moonlights. So pleased to get decent size on michelle. Perhaps a bit old and fading a little. Centres did not match. One bloom moved after judging. First three blooms distinct colour with from left Shirley winter's , Ruskin sunshine Second open class fim. Behind John willott who had five entries. Back left Normandie tangles then normandie twist and front hapet perfekt. Had four normandie tangles but three blew an inch centre in 24hours Third 50th anniversary class . With candy and senzoe ursula. Candy won the nds bronze medal and got 22points . One of the senzoe the centre started to blow and had a bad petal at the front of one bloom. I should have used a vase of greenways zoe and might have won. Lost by 2 points. Second by one point in the pembury perpetual trophy with marys winholm diane and greenways zoe. The diane highest scoring vase in section with 21 points. Dave Spencer thought he had missed a vase of his. Hehe well chuffed at that. Third three single blooms separate classifications with greenways zoe , sheval megan and marys. In used a smaller megan as.the others to big .

Raymond the collerettes look great! Nice when you can put your Dahlias on the same bench as a national winner. Must have been a shock when you went back and saw that 1st! Brilliant result. JD what a shame you had to miss Wisley, those blooms look top notch. What a time to get an ear infection eh?

Another exhibit at Kent I cocked up with the lower vase I used a rubbish narrows sonja which I won't grow again nothing like last year. Also stem issues Back vase eastwood moonlight clayts candy Ruskin michelle . Front vase a.c. Abby , Ruskin Andrea and narrows sonja. I had a spare marys jomanda, Winholm Diane which would have been better. I got told off for not.using this bloom I had three clayts candy like this and only.used one. You live and learn. I felt it had spotted on the back but size and depth where good. Had three buckets of spare blooms unused.

Pictures from the national . First small semi cactus and runner up in the jw.montague cup with cherwell goldcrest . I had a missing petal on one bloom and a crooked stem on another but thought a nice set. One bloom a little larger than the others . Thanks to ste b who helped me tweak the staging. I was very happy with the centres. First small cactus with hillcrest jersie and kiwi Gloria .I had used a trelyn kiwi but decided to change to the jersie. The jersie was young if fully out would have been oversize. First collerettes with garden friends the stamens not quite ripe enough would.have been by end of day.

They are all beautiful blooms. Has having an allotment made a massive difference for you Raymond ? Lovely to see Tel's Garden Friends & Jane's dad's Moonlight doing so well too.

Chuffed to bits Lou78W with garden friends one of the stand out varieties of the season bloom after bloom really pleased on a personal level about that. Frustrated I cut so much for Kent I could of held some stuff back for the national especially medium semi cactus. The allotment has made a big difference SueA especially with the larger blooms. The goldcrests that where runner up came from the allotment. The nds medal candy from the allotment.

Didn't post these from the national Third small Dec with winholm Diane I had better ones at kent but you can only show what you have Second medium semi cactus with clayts candy hillcrest candy and Eastwood moonlight Third American medal class with hillcrest candy and ryecroft zoe. The last two pictures taken on the Wednesday I would have been happy with the blooms then. I cut a little to.young with to big a centre. Very happy though as the plan was.not really to do the national but concentrate on.Kent.

The allotment's really paid off for you then Raymond hasn't it, you can stop digging chunks out of the garden now! Your competition blooms are lovely but then the flowers you used to cut just for your home & the shop were always gorgeous too.

Che took me round "the estate" last night telling me what he wants to grow differently next year and choosing the Plants he likes and wants to focus on when storing this winter. Don't get me wrong we can't afford to not take care of stock but Che likes to have his personal specials and those will be the ones he checks first (incase he gets bored and has to stop work and go play!)
